Notes:
Collaboration with Pinta from Poland. An old world Stock Imperial Baltic Porter featuring a blend of fresh bottom-fermented Baltic Porter and barrel aged top-fermented Baltic Porter
Taste: Sweet malts and red fruits slide down your tongue like velvet, with an oaky vinous character and strong biscuit flavour following. Hints of clean herbal hoppy bitterness and umami join in, with a light peppery spiciness lingering on the tongue.
Appearance: Jet black with a dark brown head.
Nose: Elegant notes of molasses and sweet cinder toffee jump out of the glass, before mingling with sweet candied ginger and red fruits. Hints of toffee and oak join in, with chocolate, fresh blackberry, and a hint of prunes emerging as the beer warms.
Malts: Munich malt, Pale malt, Red malt, Aromatic malt, Cara pale, Carafa Special T-2, Special B, Golden Naked Oats, Cara 300, Dark Chocolate malt, Dark sugar
Hops: Columbus, Northern Brewer

11.2oz bottled 1-21-20, best by 1-21-22. Opened 4-9-22.
Thin, short-lived tan head...fades to a ring and stays. Black to dark brown body. Some spotty lacing. Nose full of fruit, hint of wood, toffee and brown sugar - even a fuel note upon a vigorous swirl. Rich malt, toffee, booze-soaked fruit and molasses. Full body, low carbonation and a silky and smooth mouthfeel. Long finish with roasty and sweet notes. Outstanding.

Coal-black body, opaque; thin yet lasting light khaki head. Fine smell of dark pitted fruits with a bit of roasted grain; figs and dates. Sweet and boozy taste; milk chocolate, cocoa and rum; esters, like a small touch of raspberry; little to no bitterness noted. Heavy body; slick and oily; big residual sugar feel; a bit of alcohol warmth cuts through the sweetness.
This is a deliciously dark and boozy Baltic porter. The ABV is well-hidden with the rich sweetness while the beer's lager character shines through with the smooth mouthfeel.
Poured at 50 F; no bottling data seen on the label.

Warming and flavorful!
Poured from a bottle into a tulip glass. Dark brown color with thin brown head and nice lacing. Smell and taste of dark chocolate and dark berries. Earthy and a bit boozy. Really like the beers from this brewery.

Pours a deep cola color with a fluffy lighter beige head that takes its time settling.Deep rum raisin in the nose along with caramel, and coffee roast, immensely appetizingAlot like the aromas the flavors start with dark fruit and caramel with a more assertive coffee roast,a bit of booze but pretty tame for the size.Rich and warming like a beer from the Baltic states should be,fantastic stuff.

1-2020 vintage, enjoyed on 3-18-2021
Pours jet black with very little head that dissipates quickly.
Tastes heavily of dark fruits, especially plums, raisins and black cherry. Loads of roast malt and toffee with ground black coffee. Is viscous and a nice med light mouthfeel, sweet finish and a very nice lingering aftertaste.

L: Jet black color, one finger brown head, excellent thin lacing, light carbonation.
S: Chocolate, coffee, very small hint of alcohol (surprising for the ABV).
T: Chocolate, coffee, alcohol (much more prominent than on the nose). Can't say I really like it.
F: Medium to full bodied. Pretty good mouthfeel.
O: Quite boring and unoriginal baltic porter. One of the less good offerings from Pohjala.
