The colour is pale brown; the liquid is clear. The enormous head is beige and compact; it sinks slowly with a fizzing sound leaving no lacing.
The smell is malty with notes of brown bread, bitter hops, dried fruits, dough and a touch of chocolate.
The taste is light and malty with a clean bitter backbone. The bitterness is somewhat sharp at first. Passing notes of wax and paint. Brown bread and caramel. Light to medium body. The aftertaste is even lighter with pumpernickel and clean bitterness. The finish is all pumpernickel.
The carbonation is strong; the mid-sized bubbles sharp and long-lived. The liquid id light and a bit harsh.
I wonder if this bottle got some sort of infection going on?
