Notes: Designed to showcase to the beauty and splendor of Citra, this beer is built on a mountain of oats and spelt for a decadent and smooth mouthfeel. Bursts with notes of lychee, candied lemon, and peach Bellini. It's royally smooth like the juice of the highest order.⁣

Pours a pale, pineapple juice-like yellow with some soapy, wispy head that quickly falls away.

Smell is juicy as hell, with notes of oranges, mango, grapefruit, gooseberries and peaches. Just a little hint of sweetness.

Taste is extremely juicy and hoppy. Notes of pineapple, mango, blood orange, gooseberries and peaches. Soft bitterness and a hint of licorice. Tons and tons of flavor.

Mouthfeel is medium, very soft and smooth, but just a little bit undercarbonated.

Overall, an amazing NE DIPA, spot on for the style.

L: Golden pineapple-mango juice with an opaque creamy presentation and a wisp of cream in the thin cap and ring on the glass. The lace is delicate and it’s pattern exemplifies the name.

S: Creamy guava, citrus bliss, with notes of mineral spirits, pineapple, and pine!

T: Follows the nose with confectionary sugar a nice bitter-dry bite.

F: As thick as a mango smoothie and sweet to match. I would not say cloying as the finish is drier, but it is quite sweet up front. It is thick and chewy though, which totally works for this brew, but usually I seek something a touch thinner.

O: Loved it. Full stop.

From a growler from Bottlebox

Look: Hazy peach juice with a thin white head. Look a tad bit watery or thing.

Smell: Guava, passion fruit, lychee, papaya, fresh cut grass, pot, and white grapes. Almost all hops with a light honey malt.

Taste: Guava, green mango, papaya, and passion fruit on the attack. This fades with a tad bit of bitterness to a raw honey drizzled wheat bread with a bit of raw flour and tangerine hops. Lychee and grassy mango finish.

Feel: Soft and pillowy on the palate. Light plus bitterness. A bit of alcohol. Just a touch more then I want here. Soft carbonation.

Overall: A fine NEIPA. Nothing mind blowing. Just solid with maybe a touch too much alcohol.

Drekker King Of The Thing, 8.3% ABV. Pours bright opaque orange, with a slight white head, looks like a glass of grapefruit juice. When I rinsed out the can I got a lot of chunky sludge that is likely fruit. Nose is citrus and pine. Taste follows with grapefruit and pineapple, zest, tart and bitter. Excellent mouthfeel, overall outstanding. I might have to try harder to find a Drekker I don't like.

Pure juice. Love it. Really nice juicy hazy pineapple juice color with a creamy 1 finger head that recedes to a thin wispy ring with very sparse broken lacing.

Aroma is on point. Sharp, acidic juice with hints of fresh hop dust and gym socks. Some papaya, pineapple, mostly citrus though, and some herbal elements.

Flavor is like diet New England IPA. You want to taste the real thing so bad but you just can't get there. It's a mirror image. Artificial. Lemon wedge, grapefruit peel, a hint of blood orange, splenda, some cilantro... I get some pineapple from the can but barely; some flour and grain dust, and then it just falls off to water.

Feel is acidic and juicy, again, on point, with good citric acid and mild to moderate warming alcohol, buzzing carbonation, nice resinous finish.

Overall, Drekker still has a long way to go. This was enjoyable but not great. Maybe if they keep trying they'll get there. Another reason that hype isn't everything.
