A little stuffy, pretty pricey, but if that's your shtick The partisan is for you. Great food, great drinks, great pier, did I mention great food.

3/30/17 - Still dark and a bit pretentious. Does not give me the beer vibe, but a great selection (4 to 4.25). Continues to be a pricey place. Good place to bring a date who doesn't like beer because there is plenty of good wine and spirits.

Visited on a Tuesday at 4 pm. Almost empty but his is the best time to learn about a place (not necessarily get a good idea about service.) Happy with my taster pour above average quantity. That may be a good strategy here.
Quality - Good. Only beer is on tap. Beer not too cold. 3.75
Vibe - Dark, clean, high class, good music (not too loud and not crazy rock). But not a craft bar ambiance. A high priced bar feel - which I can like when looking for a good Manhattan. 3.25
Service – Fine. Right amount of distance by bar tender. 3.75
Selection – Decent for a craft bar even though this place does not want to be thought of as a craft beer place. A good variety but a bit disappointing as they had a great Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast Cognac Barrel on tap and I missed it. Had the Smuttynose Imperial Stout and Moylans Harvest IPA. - 4
Food – I did not have food during this visit.
PRICE - $$$
I will keep my eye on this place for good beers but not a top favorite because of ambiance.
