Waymaker leads you down the familiar IPA path, but soon diverges toward new horizons of green, vibrant flavor. A fermentation with undomesticated Brettanomyces yeast creates fruity, tropical flavors, delicately balanced with a subtle background of funk and juicy American (Centennial, Glacier and Chinook) hops to refresh in any season.

A $3 bomber among $10+ ones? How could I not get this???
Pours a hazy pale gold with a persistent finger of soapy white head and leaves a decent amount of lacing
Some funky horse blanket and leather with some citrus hops. Smells like theres some Belgian yeast notes of banana as well
Beginning of the sip brings out the minor Belgian notes, before turning funky and lightly hoppy. I was hoping for more hops, but with no bottled date I’m gonna assume this is not fresh. It’s still good tho
Medium bodied with soft carbonation, this is surprisingly easy drinking and finishes sweeter than I was expecting
I was expecting something a little more hoppy and tropical, but this was still good for a $3 bottle

Bottle. Very pale hazy yellow even paler than straw with dense rocky head and lace. Beautiful. Woody farmhouse funk aroma with some horse balls and lemon. Light lemony grassy sweetness with pungent woody funk and fruity spicy bitterness. LIght body and lively. TOTALLY FUCKING EXCELLENT.

POUR: Bomber bottle into a tulip glass. APPEARANCE: Extremely volatile. Cloudy and light straw in color with a huge rocky head. Lots of sediment. Sticky and clingy glass lacing. AROMA: Citrus and funk. Lemon zest mixed with earthy notes. slight medicine-like notes as well. TASTE: more subdued than the nose might suggest. Nice mouthfeel. Lemony and medicine-like notes five way to a more pronounced malt character...crackery. AFTERTASTE: Finishes somewhat peppery and malty. Slight bitter bite. NOTES: Wild looking brew. Nice on the nose. However, wanted a bit more in the taste category. Hops used: Centennial, Glacier, Chinook. REVIEW/ RATING: Good/ 3 out of 5.

L: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a light yellow color and a thick consistency. There was a massive, creamy, extremely long-lasting head. Below average lacing.
S: A sweet, light aroma of hops, citrus fruit, brettanomyces, and a little malt.
T: Tasted of a fair shot of citrus (lemon and orange, in particular), a moderate amount hops, some brettanomyces (gives it a nice funky quality), light malt notes, and pine as well. An interesting flavor on the whole. The brett gives it an added dimension and mixes well with the hops and citrus. Tasty.
F: A well-carbonated beer with a lively finish. Light-bodied.
O: I doubt this beer will please IPA purists, but for everyone else, give it a shot. Drinkable.

Let's make this clear - everything poured onsite at Kent Falls smells incredible. Leafy green hops, fresh cut citrus, pungent fauna, barnyard funk. It's so aromatic to the point that a stroll through the actual brewery is sensory overload.
Long-winded way of saying - this beer smells great. Hop-driven pine, citrus, leafy greens followed by a balancing funk and fruit. The pour is a cloudy golden hue that's a shade less than their hazy IPAs. Taste is citrus, pine, brett-funk, hay and a lingering earthiness and bitterness. Drinks crisp throughout with a nice snap of carbonation. Outstanding brew.

Bottle:
The beer has a nice look to it a quite hazy orange leaning burnt orange. The head is maybe just off white; lasting, but without any lacing.
I can definitely tell there is Brett in this beer. The nose is actually quite nice starting with the funky yeast's aspects. I get a nice dose of fruit notes as well: apricot and grapefruit, maybe a little nectarine. There's a piney aspect as well, that seems to work with the yeast funk to yield a slight Pine-Sol note (without the cleaner aspect - mean this in a good way, actually).
Taste starts and is dominated early by an earthy farmhouse note with a bit of pine wood in there. The fruit notes gain a little as it warms, and seem more stone fruit in nature. Initially, the earthy notes seems to suck the sweetness from the fruits, but as it warms the fruits gain a little of their sweet tart nature. The beer that glides over tickling carbonation, and seems a little light at first, but as the fruit notes come out, they bring a more medium body with them. A dry ending has a pith/barn wood lingering note.
Very enjoyable beer that uses the yeast and bitter in combination to produce a fairly unique IPA.

500ml Bottle
This one come my way courtesy of the ever generous Patrick. Thanks, guy! This beer straddles the fence between golden and orange I finally settle on apricot in color. There's enough haze running throughout that there's no chance of seeing through the body but shadows are noticeable. A generous crown forms easily, two fingers in height, before slowly falling to a sturdy cap and chunky ring, spotty lace here and there. Nice lookin' beer.
The nose on this guy is deep and complex. It's big on the stone fruit, as a matter of fact, it's big on the fruit period. Morning, dew heavy apricots and the overall smell of an orchard kick things off in the most pleasant of ways. The brett brings about that slightly musty, pollen heavy wildflower quality that I so thoroughly enjoy. That mustiness cradles a fruit salad of slightly underrripe, somewhat peppery tropical fruits. A little bubblegum here and there. Soft, clean alcohol. Sugar cookie malt sweetness puts on the pretty little bow.
The flavor profile doesn't quite sing like the nose but it's not far off either. Kicking off with a pithy grapefruit nature the nose didn't hint towards it segues back to an orchard mid palate. A quick flash of grassiness passes through but some grassy bitterness lingers. Both the wildlower and musty brett qualities compliment along the periphery. The malt presence is pale and tough to decipher the brett ate up all the sugars but what emerges is a bit bready. I like this stuff, complex.
They did quite the number on the mouthfeel. The weight is just shy of medium with a great silky frothiness when it hits the tongue. The bubbles pick up on the swallow and add a Belgian-esque airiness along with near prickly carbonation. The finish dries up quickly helping accentuate the bitterness. The bitterness isn't high but it lingers while the dryness grabs at the inside of the cheeks. This beer could be drank all day long.
Waymaker is good beer and a fine introduction to Kent Falls. The nose is bright and complex while the flavor profile opens up even more doors. They nailed the mouthfeel. This would be a nice option to have available locally. Thanks for the beer, Patrick!

On-tap 5/7/2017 at Mac & Walt’s in Norton, MA, served in a tulip glass.
A: The beer is a deep yellow color, with a large white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains wild Belgian yeast, light caramelized malts, citrus, some spice and some floral hops.
T: The taste starts out bready with flavors of wild Belgian yeast and a hearty but not too heavy malt character followed by sweet flavors of bananas, citrus and some spice. The hops presence is mild for the style but brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly bready.
M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.
O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, decent kick, decent representation of style but seems more like a Belgian IPA, this is a solid beer to drink for a while.

Clear straw color with huge head. Smells of citrus with funk. Tastes slightly sour with funk and some not-very-bitter hops. Mouthfeel is smooth with some carbonation. Overall, an interesting funky IPA but more expensive than I think it is worth.
