Dark chestnut, opaque and slightly hazed with an inch high head of tightly bubbled light brown foam that lingers long and settles out quickly. Aroma of light cocoa and biscuit, a little nutty, grainy, some raisin notes. Flavor fairly matches the nose, grainy and biscuity upfront, finishes semi-sweet with just the slightest offsetting bitterness. No noticeable hop flavors. Full and rich mouthfeel, creamy. Good beer, but would have liked more depth.

Pours a dark brown color into my New England Brewing nonic pint glass, decent sized off-white head foams up and leaves some lacing.

Smell is light, some dark malts, hints of cocoa and milk chocolate. Taste wise it's pretty dark, bit of fruit, nice chocolate and coffee malts. Bit of a milky flavor swirling around. Not overly bitter or charred.

Basically this beer is everything you want a porter to be: light body, chocolate and coffee flavored malts, and not too charred. A bit more body on this one would have really sent it over the edge, but a very well balanced beer nonetheless.

Poured from 500 ml bottle with no visible bottle date.

A: Deep chestnut brown almost black with 1-2 finger light tan head. Decent retention settling to a thin ring and little lacing.

S: Cocoa powder and grainy malts with hints of nuts.

T: Baking chocolate and roasted grains mixed with slight hints of walnuts. Almost a biscuit quality to it.

M: Medium body with average carbonation. Finish is dry and lightly bitter.

O: Solid porter. I enjoy the chocolate notes without bringing big sweetness. Very well done.

Really toasty and lovely malts, reminds me a lot of mayflower porter. I wish I had let this warm up a bit more in the glass. There really doesn't seem to be any style that is beyond Kent Falls capability. Nice finger of tan head topped this when initially poured, but it faded quickly and didn't leave much in the way of lacing as I drank. Chocolate aroma in the nose is nicely subtle, not fudgy but rather bittersweet and dusty like taking a sniff of baking cocoa. Toasted malt aroma reminds me of wheat bread crust with a bit of pumpernickel. Hop bitterness very minimal. Just enough to reduce the sweetness of this beer to make it drinkable and refreshing. Lovely porter.

I have just stumbled upon Kent Falls recently and I like what I am finding; what really sticks out about this beer is the spelt- the grainy aroma and flavor is prevalent and plays well with the chocolate aroma and taste; the mouthfeel needs a lot more body however for this to be a complete success

A: The beer is essentially jet black in color—only traces of dark brown are visible near the edges of the glass when it is held up to a bright light. It poured with a half finger high light tan head that died down, leaving specks of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of grainy malts—which I presume must be the spelt—and dark chocolate are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has some bitterness associated with the chocolate malts. Faint bits of roasted malts are also perceptible.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. The finish leaves your mouth a little dry.
O: This beer is especially flavorful for a porter but the lighter-bodied nature still makes it very easy to drink.

Pours dark brown from bottle but appears black in the glass with a tan head.

Aroma: roasted, burnt, cocoa

Taste: best part so far, there is a smoky taste which rides the back of the roasted malts. I do get chocolate but its subtle, which is great actually. The beer isnt too sweet, its balanced well with the roasted/smokey quality and probably a dash of hops. The beer finishes dry, complimenting all the flavors. Light to medium carboration.

16.9 fl oz bottle for 6 bucks. Worth it. Great porter.

Dark walnut swirl with garnet edges. Well formed dark mocha head. Wheaty, almost bready taste...Nutella on top of freshly toasted pumpernickel. Taste not nearly as sweet and even features some sourdough elements, a nutty acorn-hazelnut quality, and artisan hot chocolate. I feel the spelt keeps the body light airy, but pillowy and soft as well. Very smooth flavors throughout, mildly citric sourness, scant sweetness, and well carbonated, soft body.
