Into my chalice, it poured a nice jet black with a superb nice foamy half-centimeter off-white head that lasted for most of the beer. No lacing whatsoever. The smell was centered around sugars, slight dark fruits, and a little bit of yeastiness. The taste had the same yet brought in a very slightly hoppiness in and around the maltiness. The mouthfeel is about a medium with a superior smoothness. Overall, good for style, and good for me.

Poured from fridge temp. Pours a very dark brown with good carbonation. Nose is raisin, fig, dates, molasses, some caramel, and candy. Taste is heavy on the raisin, but follows the nose. The raisin dominance is probably the one detractor from this beer. I was expecting more of a traditional Belgian ale, which this is not. Other flavors are caramel, sweet malty, and fig. It's not my favorite, but definitely good. Mouthfeel is good.

Deep, dark brown, strong ale (8%) beer topped with a thick, creamy lace that keeps its volume accompanied with a dried fruit smell. Bitteness is mild balanced nicely with a sweet feel with hints of caramel and malt overtones with a controlled acidic finish. Really good beer I enjoyed even though it's -15c outside!

Poured into a Mons tulip glass, cold.
Very dark opaque beer with a 2 finger beige head that subsides almost instantly.
From 3 feet away I smell pineapple!
Tastes of pineapple, sweet malt, a hint of molasses. Some chocolate malt and some acidity. Also some noble hops.
Of the four beers in the mixed pack this is the most complex. The 8 % abv is completely hidden. As the beer warms up the taste seems to expand. The feel is well balanced between the smoothness of the carbonation and the various flavors.
Overall a beer well worth the purchase. Also available in a 750 ml sharable size!
I think the water from the local esker is one reason for the great quality of this brewer's beer.

Mons Abbey Dubbel 8% ABV bought it in a 12 mix pack for 21,99$

Look: Dark, brown color. No head at all.

Smell: Sweet floral hops, caramel, raisin, dark fruit.

Taste: Very sweet, raisin, dark fruit, chocolat a finish of a touch of vanilla.

Feel: Heavy, very sweet. drinking 1 is enough because it is really sweet, heavy body,

So overall would I recomend it? Sure this is not a bad beer overall, just remember it is a heavy beer, it is not a session beer where you can drink 5 or 6.

Brown with a red hue under light. Nice big fizzy head and lots of carbonation. Smell of caramel, dark fruits and malts. Taste similar to smell, really sweet. Nice feel in the mouth, really not bad.

Appearance - This beer pours a very dark amber, almost a black but when put in natural light has a red hue. It had 2 fingers of foamy offwhite head that fade to a thick half finger layer. The carbonation is extremely lively and active.

Aroma - Ginger, molasses, floral hops noticably present as in the blonde, raisin, plum, to a lesser extent figs and dates. a hint of peppery spice from the yeast. These smells come together to remind me of grape soda To be completely honest.

Taste - plum and raisin dominate some toffee in the background, floral hops combined with the yeast make a strong pepper taste on the finish. It starts out completely sweet and finishes completely spicey there is no balance. I gave it a 3 because it has the characteristics of a dubbel but its a mediocre one as far as fkavor and aromas are concerned, I'm also noticing a lasting dark fruit aftertaste as it warms.

Feel - mouth feel is the best part This is a heavy-medium body with loads of creamy carbonation sending this beer down the throat very smoothly .

Overall - There doesnt seem to be much going for this beer in terms of style. I mean all the flavors that should be in a dubbel are there. but they just dont come together as I would like. A beer that fits the confines of a dubbel will already be a decent beer its just when a style is so good you expect to be wowed by the smaller breweries and I'm not, try it if you can get your hands on it and let me know what you think.

Opaque dark brown, almost black color with a copper hue, and strong glass clinging activity. Light brown 4 fingers island head explosion, extra frothy with sparks, lasts around 15-20 minutes, with strong leggings.

Aromas of ginger, floral, molassy, and dark fruits. Flavors of syrupy molasses, dark fruits, ester fruits, spicy peppercorn, herbal and floral spices. Ginger bread feel.

Slick medium body with prickly carbonation. Strong and long finish, ending with an overly spicy feel, thick syrupy sugary feel, leathery and molassy tongue coat.

Overall average quality craft. OK flavors that are unbalanced and way too spicy and sugary. Too intense and doesn't feel very fresh. Still good accessibility with low perception of alcohol.
