Into my chalice, it poured a nice jet black with a superb nice foamy half-centimeter off-white head that lasted for most of the beer. No lacing whatsoever. The smell was centered around sugars, slight dark fruits, and a little bit of yeastiness. The taste had the same yet brought in a very slightly hoppiness in and around the maltiness. The mouthfeel is about a medium with a superior smoothness. Overall, good for style, and good for me.

Poured from fridge temp. Pours a very dark brown with good carbonation. Nose is raisin, fig, dates, molasses, some caramel, and candy. Taste is heavy on the raisin, but follows the nose. The raisin dominance is probably the one detractor from this beer. I was expecting more of a traditional Belgian ale, which this is not. Other flavors are caramel, sweet malty, and fig. It's not my favorite, but definitely good. Mouthfeel is good.

Deep, dark brown, strong ale (8%) beer topped with a thick, creamy lace that keeps its volume accompanied with a dried fruit smell. Bitteness is mild balanced nicely with a sweet feel with hints of caramel and malt overtones with a controlled acidic finish. Really good beer I enjoyed even though it's -15c outside!

Poured into a Mons tulip glass, cold.
Very dark opaque beer with a 2 finger beige head that subsides almost instantly.
From 3 feet away I smell pineapple!
Tastes of pineapple, sweet malt, a hint of molasses. Some chocolate malt and some acidity. Also some noble hops.
Of the four beers in the mixed pack this is the most complex. The 8 % abv is completely hidden. As the beer warms up the taste seems to expand. The feel is well balanced between the smoothness of the carbonation and the various flavors.
Overall a beer well worth the purchase. Also available in a 750 ml sharable size!
I think the water from the local esker is one reason for the great quality of this brewer's beer.

Mons Abbey Dubbel 8% ABV bought it in a 12 mix pack for 21,99$
Look: Dark, brown color. No head at all.
Smell: Sweet floral hops, caramel, raisin, dark fruit.
Taste: Very sweet, raisin, dark fruit, chocolat a finish of a touch of vanilla.
Feel: Heavy, very sweet. drinking 1 is enough because it is really sweet, heavy body,
So overall would I recomend it? Sure this is not a bad beer overall, just remember it is a heavy beer, it is not a session beer where you can drink 5 or 6.

Brown with a red hue under light. Nice big fizzy head and lots of carbonation. Smell of caramel, dark fruits and malts. Taste similar to smell, really sweet. Nice feel in the mouth, really not bad.
