From a 473ml can, dated... something illegible/18/18. Served in an imperial pint pub glass.

A barely cold-hazed pour the colour of ginger ale with a three finger-plus head of pouffy snow-white fluff. Retention is pretty good, leaving scattered gobs of weak lacing.

Smell is thick and malty, toast, honey and alcohol.

Taste is strongly malty, burnt toast, honey, citrus rinds and composty pineapple, but mainly burnt toast. Earthy, grainy, a bit harsh and vaguely medicinal in character. Tingly, turpy, piney resin at the finish.

Feel is creamy, slippery and no more than medium bodied with bright carbonation.

Overall, an old-school DIPA but grainy and harsh even so. Not bad drinking but might be better for cleaning out wounds.

Can: Poured a clear bright yellow color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy hops with light herbal notes and some residual sugar is quite enticing. Taste is a mix of floral citrusy undertones with light tropical notes and some herbal notes with quite a bit of residual sugar notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Solid IIPA but maybe a tad too sweet for my liking.

A:
Pours a semi-cloudy white gold with three fingers of white head that drops to one. Good retention; confetti lacing.
(4.25)

S:
Citrus rind, pine needles, candied orange, potpourri. (4.25)

T:
Bracing earthy bitterness with some light tropical sweetness and biscuity malt at the finish. (4.25)

M:
Medium+ body with moderate carbonation and a resinous finish.
(4.25)

O:
An excellent IIPA.
Pours pretty pretty with a nice head and a light haze. The aroma is immediately noticeable with citrus, tropical aromas and some pine-like spice. The flavor is more on the bitter end with a sticky, resinous snap, orange, pine, mango and biscuity malt. It is drinkable while still being huge, boozy and a little sticky.
Very nice, I'd gladly have it again. (4.25)
