Barrel aged sour ale with cherries. We are very proud of this beer, and named it after the stunningly beautiful Stickney Brook in nearby Dummerston. 10 months of oak-barrel aging over sour cherries produced an exceedingly dry, deeply complex, and bitingly tart beer with a multi-layered balance of cherry, vanilla and toffee. This is not a lambic, but it's as close as we've come. Very limited quantities available.

Canned 8/20/21
It’s always a treat having Hermit Thrush, and especially a less common one like this instead of just the Party Jam series. This is their take on a Kriek Lambic, but just not officially a Lambic. I’m very excited to see how they do this one. Let’s crack it open and find out
Pours a cloudy burnt orange with 2 fingers of off white head that quickly fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing
This is definitely tart and cherry forward in the nose, but like all good Krieks there is still a nice balance. I’m picking up on aromas of tart cherry, sharp oak, lemon zest, pie crust, funky leather, toffee, and light red grape
It’s more of the same in taste, and while it’s tart it really runs with that slightly sweet note I dig. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting tart cherry, pie crust, sweet vanilla, apple skin, cinnamon, smooth oak, red grape, and lemon juice. The swallow brings notes of black cherry, red wine vinegar, brown sugar, funky leather, pie crust, sharp oak, and apple skin
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a tart and sharp beer. Finishes mostly dry with a puckering tartness
Damn, this is good stuff. I need more Hermit Thrush in my life

Awesome sour. It is very sour like most of HT's beers. I love the barrel aged flavor with the balanced cherry flavor. This is very good. Wish it wasn't quite so sour or it hits me more as I get older. I got two cans from the brewery last time we where in town. I should have bought more.

Can from the source.
Brilliant dark gold in color with a thin white head that quickly dissipates. Lemony tart nose with hints of funk and stone fruits. Taste is more lemony tart acid with bits of cherry. Its quite tasty but most of the kriek's I've had are bright to dark red and have ton's of cherry aroma and flavor. This one not so much.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Nearly clear golden burgundy pour... slightly darker than apple juice with thin fizzy white head. Minimal lacing... a bit of sediment at the end of the pour.
S: Tart and funky. Oak and cherry.
T.F: Sweet/tart up front... or at least you get the sense of some sweetness. Moderate acidity... baking cherry, jam, and oak. Apple-cider vinegar, green fruit, and funk. Nice barrel presence... and the cherry is fantastic. Medium to light bodied. Sticky cherry at the finish.
O: An outstanding barrel-aged wild ale. Excellent flavor and drinkability. Best beer I've had from Hermit Thrush yet.

Tall can purchased at the source, and lovingly stored in my fridge for the past 4 or 5 months.
Pours out with a light haze, plum in color with a ruby haze, just a slight fine bubble film and minimal bits of lace left behind.
Fruity nose with some tart cherries on the nose.
Delicate, fruity, densely flavorful medium tart, deliciously well crafted, cherries, vanilla, wood....if ya like a nice crisp and medium tart/sour fruity brew....go get some

A: The beer is hazy reddish amber in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head that quickly died down, leaving a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of sour cherries are present in the nose along with hints of oak and associated vanilla.
T: The taste follows the smell and is somewhat sour with flavors of cherries and hints of oak.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This sour ale is very drinkable and isn't too sour or tart. I really liked the strong notes of cherry flavors and the hints of oak from the barrel aging.
