The closest place to home, and a good place to get a cheap keg.

I've been coming here for almost two years, and every time I do, its a different 16 year old behind that counter. 99% of the customers are there for BMC cases or kegs. Every time I go, I spend a good amount of money, always buying up their craft stuff, and prices are ALWAYS inconsistent. Iv'e stopped asking questions because what can a young kid tell you about a $18.00 beer.

Dust on the bottles, slow moving merchandise... I can tell I'm one of a handful who goes for craft here. I actually have started considering it my own cellar space, and I'll leave bottles to age, knowing they will. Found a good Ommegang to add to the collection, but not enough cash to get it? It's ok, leave it, it will be there next time. The Magic Hat and SA cases tend to move, but I've walked past the same 3-pack (only bought one) of BCS for like 8 months now...

Prices are a bit tough, bit in NYC you're lucky to find $9 6packs of Boston Lager. Still they keep fluctuating...

This place is more meant for your average domestic macro buyers.

I've rarely seen anyone buy any "good" beer, even though they carry some good bottles (Three Philosophers/Duvel...etc). It looks like they only restock the shelves a few times a year, and most bottles are dusty.

From a $ point they are pretty pricey, most craft six packs are $12+ and 22oz bombers are they same.

Staff is not very knowledgeable.

All in all they suffice in a pinch but there are better stores out there - check out Holiday Beverage on Amboy.

I hate this is the best place that Staten Island has to offer selection-wise. I came in to pick up beer and behind the are two girls that look and act 16-ish. Fortunately they had a 6 minus 1 pack of Raging Bitch and a SlyFox Incubus and go to the counter. They try to ring me up and it's not in the system. First girl: "what's it called?" second girl: "raging bitch." both girls: (giggling)

They don't have glassware either.

I'm not sure what kind of rotation they have, but there was dust on my Incubus. The selection is enough to keep me going back, and they let me mix a six of Sierra Nevada a couple weeks back for only nine bucks, so it isn't the worst.

Long story short: I paid 21 bucks for what you see listed in the first paragraph and they employ less than helpful staff.

Finding good beer in Staten Island is tough, and this place does not help much. The good aspect is that it is dimly lit, so those florescent rays do not harm the beer too much. I did however get a bad bottle of Belle-Vue Framboise. I do not come here often to due the selection. They carry a nice selection of imports and some micros. Lots of Polish and Russian beers, good place for lagers, but that's not my thing. Also are a little thin when it comes to Belgians. The micro kings are not present (Victory, Rogue, etc.) but the place is serviceable. And of the service, it is not so good. If you are looking for beer from Russia, or see the store while driving, stop by, otherwise there are better places.
