Tulip pour at Milk and Hops Broadway in NYC.

A- Cloudy golden and copper. More malt in color than practically every IPA I've seen in NYC as of late. Frothy pale white head and plenty of residual lace. 4.5

S- Candied mango sweetness with a bit of a floral edge. Pungent pineapple. Ridiculously juicy quality to this aroma. 4.5

T- Flavor veers more to the unripe mango and pineapple. Floral notes show a little clearer. Close to the finish the candied mango pops up again in a lighter way than on the nose. 4.25

M- Excellent mouthfeel here. Plenty of dry, bitter bite and plenty of sweet, fruity juiciness. Best of both worlds. Some floral qualities to add to the mix. 4.5

This is pretty outstanding. I had a really shitty experience at Threes a few nights ago (no service for 20 minutes) but with beers like this, I could still support these guys.

Drank from 16oz can on day of release (7/15/16).

A: Deep, radiant orange. Semi-transparent... Kinda reminds me of a slightly brighter/lighter Sip of Sunshine.

S: Overripe fruit, especially mango. Bit of woodsy pine.

T: Tropical fruit (tangerine, mango) up front and sticks around for a while, coating the mouth with a candied sweetness. Pine on the finish, but a syrupy sweetness really comes through as well. As it warms, sweetness becomes a bit overwhelming.

M: Smooth for 9.5%... Some hint of alcohol, but to be expected given the size of this beer. Hops hide the booze quite well. Medium bitterness on the finish. Aptly described by Three's themselves as 'oily.'

O: Perhaps my favorite of Three's offerings so far, SFY demonstrates their ability to make a brew that truly packs a hop punch. It's a bit sweet for my tastes, but probably to be expected for the ABV... Would really love a version of this about 2% lower...

Double dry hopped IIPA, listed at 9.4% abv on Threes' website, featuring Mosaic, Simcoe, and Columbus hops, and Mosaic lupulin powder... This is the second beer I've had this month featuring a lupulin powder - a new trend?

This beer is fucking nuts. Translucent golden-colored body with an ivory head a coupla fingers tall that draped sheets of lace behind. Tropical fruits and piney resin on the nose - has a distinct dankness to it. The flavors and feel are similarly incredible. Yes, there are impressions of pale orchard and tropical fruits, but they are balanced, to say the least, by a dank pine oil, slick and sinuous... The feel is soft and smooth and almost has an oily sheen to it that lingers on the tongue. Bitterness is moderate, sweetness subdued, and carbonation smooth. Something of a candied fruit/pixie dust finish to put a bow on it at the end...

One can limit is a bummer, as this was top-flight... 1/25/17 canning

L - golden color, slight haze, small head

S - pungent citrus and tropical fruit, top notch

T - follows the nose with some earthy and pine notes, lingering bitterness

F - medium to low carbonation, somewhat syrupy, drying finish

O - the best I've had from Threes, the only beer of theirs that I'd put on the same level as the best beers from OH or SingleCut

Pours a moderately hazy yet vibrant pale orange in color with a finger of white head. Aroma is very juicy, lots of tropical fruits; it get some mango a touch of pineapple. Taste as the same tropical fruit notes with some subtle pine and a hint of melon; very tasty. Good mouthfeel, medium bodies with moderate carbonation. Overall a great beer, it has some of the hallmarks of a NE IPA (juicy tropical fruit hop notes) but lacks the characteristic haze and mouthfeel.

Tropical candied fruit. There's a subtle hint of being a higher abv ipa with warmth, but really hard to tell that it's 9.5%. Quite delicious and super dangerous.

Poured a orangish gold color with a good amount of white, foamy head. Smell is very fruity balanced by a good malt backbone. Very bitter upfront, followed by mango, citrus, and tropical fruit sweetness before you get a doughy bread taste to finish it off. The feel is a little thicker than medium with a slight alcohol burn. Great combination of bitter, juicy, and malty. Abbreviated name is not so fun but works.

This is a good one- big juicy, resiny smell and taste to follow up. Worth a try definitely- up there with the IPAs from other half.
