A lot of tropical fruit in this one but the malt also has a noticeable presence, probably because the beer is served at at 48 degrees. Prickly carbonation on the tongue, soft on the cheeks.

Crowler purchased at Westmere Beverage in Albany, NY.
This one pours a fairly hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells piney and resinous, with pineapple, bubblegum, and melon.
This has a nice candied juicy flavor to it, with a clean, dry, and refreshing resinous bitterness on the end. Threes still dances along the line of exactly the sort of hop character I enjoy in an IPA.
This is light bodied, clean, with a dry and thirst-quenching bitterness on the back end.
I have always loved the dichotomy between the names of their IPAs showing they don’t care about the style at all, and the actual taste, which shows that even if they don’t care, they know what they’re doing.

A proper hazy. A very meaty papaya taste immediately comes about amongst the tropical notes.
Pineapple juice color and consistency. A very opaque and thick gold color.

Pours a hazy yellow color. A large foam head shows good retention and lacing.
A fruity nose evokes citrusy notes of grapefruit, lime and lemon, as well as tropical notes of pineapple and papaya. There are also some nice herbal aromas pine, pepper, verbena and basil.
The taste is juicy, yet dry, and hops forward. A neutral cracker and thin bready malt backbone provides a touch of sweetness and is well balanced by a gently assertive hops bitterness. Citrusy hops flavors stand out, evoking notes of grapefruit rind, orange pith, lemon and lime. In addition, flavors of pineapple, papaya and pear contrast nicely with herbal and spicy notes of pine resin, verbena and white pepper.
Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. The finish is dry and resiny. The carbonation is moderate.
Solid IPA all around, tasty and drinks well relative to its strength. I would have this again.

5-6 week old can poured into a tulip.
Hazy but not overly so, with a good soapy head and solid lacing for the size. Lots of fruity, grassy, grainy, a piney complexity on the nose, with moderate dankness. Very dry and grapefruit-heavy on the tongue, with complimentary pineapple, melon, grape, berry, and dank greens. Very little residual sweetness, which leaves the starchy greens a little sharp. Soft and silky.
Rock solid beer, though not as good as SFY (the only other Threes beer I’ve had). Extremely dry and heavy on the grapefruit rind bitterness. Just a touch more sweetness would go a long way.

This pale yellow can pour is foggy with a thin white foam cap and a light aroma of pine and grapefruit zest.
The flavor follows the nose. Pine and punchy citrus and pineapple notes are prominent.
The mouthfeel is smooth.
This is a superb brew with moderate hop bitterness.

Quite satisfied with the hops and bitterness. Not a huge fan of IPA's but found this one to be very smooth and easy to drink.

Look: Pours a slightly cloudy but still translucent straw yellow color with lots of visible carbonation rolling up the sides of the glass. Generates a two finger head of densely compacted eggshell white foam that laces the glass exceptionally well.
Aroma: Spicy and pungent with big notes of wet spruce needles, pine sap and citrus rind. A delicate touch of savory papaya + mango in the background adding some sweetness, along with a very faint aroma of honey.
Taste: Absolutely incredible. A full flavored, harmonious marriage of hops and malt. Upfront creamy mango/orange sorbet mingled with a generous amount of earthy, mildly spicy and dank hops, giving the beer some teeth.
Feel: Soft mouthfeel. Full bodied and rich but aggressively carbonated. 6.9% ABV is well hidden, doesn't feel like an almost 7%er. Bubbly but not fizzy or soda-like. Silky.
Overall: Really impressed by this. It's almost an imperial IPA that drinks like a session or something somewhere in between ; without ever becoming overbearing, insipid or dull. Love the variety of hops + malt they used here, it's tropical but not to the "fruit salad" degree of sugary sweet overtly citrusy beer, thanks to the addition of some really pungent and piffy, dank hops. Very high marks from me on this one, I really enjoyed it.
