Pours a murky golden color...nay, a TURBID golden color. This brings the haze nicely. The head is a finger high and white in shade. It has a rough texture and poor retention, and it doesn't leave behind much lace on the glass.

The look brought the haze, and the aroma brings the juice. The focus here is grapefruit and citrus over tropical fruits, though notes of mango, guava, and pineapple are still prevalent. Did I say juicy? Because this is definitely juicy. A very slight twinge of sugar and bread show up. Its relative simplicity is the only nitpick here, but considering how well it nails the fruity hop goodness of a hazy IPA, who cares?

The flavor profile doesn't *quite* follow the nose successfully, but it's hardly far off. Grapefruit flavors open it up vigorously, aided by tones of mango, pink guava, and pineapple. There is a rindy bitterness around the middle, so it isn't quite as approachable as the finest hazy IPAs. Still, it calms down right before the finish, and in its place the malt backbone shows up. Notes of sugar cookie and bread are found. This isn't the finest hazy IPA, nor is it a bastion of endless complexity. Still, it manages to hit all the right notes in an incredibly satisfying manner.

Oats really do a great job of smoothing the mouthfeel out - and in turn, keeping some of the bitter flavors in check. Despite the creamy texture, it finishes dry, allowing this to go down easily. Carbonation is medium.

This is one of the best "shelf" IPAs (inasmuch as it's still a very limited release that only shows up in the best liquor stores every once in a while) from Maryland. It's not impeccably balanced (the bitterness isn't quelled 100%), but it still brings a juicy flavor profile and a soft texture the way this style should. I will seek this out again, as should anyone who likes hazy IPAs.

4.12/5: Maryland brewers are stepping their game up!

Great tasting beer with near perfect hoppy flavor, citrus deliciousness.

For a local NE style IPA, it is pretty solid. Looks great, nice aroma, but the flavor is not going to be on par with the big boys. That being said, it is worth seeking out.

Another locally made NE IPA that I found and it turns out to be one of the best in town. Relatively understated for the style, but thick and balanced. Peach and grapefruit but taste is overall a little thin, would like a bit more yeast and sweetness and I would always love more complexity and dank fruitiness. I'm glad this exists and will buy again, but is a pretty safe NE IPA style beer and made possibly to satisfy the demand but not a standout. Still, solid and enjoyable.
