A - poured from a 341ml bottle into a pint glass. The color is an opaque dark brown/black with a dissipating beige head.

S - strong coffee and some dark chocolate

T - coffee, with a finish that mixes coffee bean and dark chocolate

M - medium carbonation and liquid lager feel. The finish is sticky at first then becomes dry.

D - This is a very interesting beer. It feels like a lager when you sip, yet it has stout flavors and some stout mouthfeel (escpecially in the finish). Very refreshing.

found a six of this @ the local COOP beer store.

Well is swartz is black then this is swartz. Some light will bring out a slight dark orange/brown hue, but over all black as night. Decent head & lacing, but not upper echelon.

Nice balanced aroma. Dqark roast coffee nearly perfect in balance with the hop & malt.

Wee bit thin & the front end. But more than makes up for it in the middle and finale.Very nice balance between hop bitterness and a combo of chocolate/coffee malts. Finish is slightly bitter & dry.

Other than the thin beginning, this is avery smooth and given the description of Swartsbier, right within acceptable standards.

Another offering from Okanagan that Sleeman/Sapporo hasn't ruined ...yet.

A: 1/3" inch mocha coloured head which dissipated over 2 minutes over top of extremely dark brown / black liquid.

S: Malt, coffee, chocolate, and yeast.

T: Bitter at first, then coffee and mocha, then toasted malt which leaves with a refreshing and pleasant aftertaste.

M: Medium thickness, medium level of fine carbonation.

O: Very tasty and refreshing beer. Dark but can easily be enjoyed in the summer due to its viscosity and how refreshing and crisp it is.
