Hit it for lunch on a Friday, and wasn't disappointed.
It's located in a nondescript upscale strip mall, for lack of a better term. There was a boardwalk and patio behind the strip of shops, though no seating out there. It was small and cozy, reminiscent of European shops and cafés. Rustic wood bar that seated 8 or so, and table seating for maybe 20. Not a big place, so expect to wait at peak times. More of a café and store than bar or eatery, but it attempts to be all these things in a tiny space.

Great bottled beer selection. Stuff I didn't see elsewhere in Des Moines, heavy on the imports, but plenty of Midwest classics too. Highlights included Lindemans Kriek Cuvée Réne, Fantome Saison, Prairie assortment, Surly Todd and others, De La Senne Brusseleir, TG Xhops Gold, and many more. Handpicked and high quality. For hundreds of taps, go elsewhere obviously (Cheese Bar). If you can drink Fantome and eat acorn-fed La Quercia ham sliced straight off the leg anywhere else, please let me know.

Service was very good, the staff were younger, but knowledgeable and helpful.
There was a limited beer being released when I visited, and they seemed to just be handing it out left and right. Maybe they should impose bottle limits, but it seemed there wasn't a crowd after the initial one left.

Charcuterie and cheese selection is amazing. It reminded me of Pastoral and Publican in Chicago. Charcuterie included several varieties of La Quercia, housemade rillettes, chicken liver mousse, pork belly confit, duck speck, and blood sausage, which were all excellent.

Overall a fantastic place that enriches Des Moines' beer landscape, and the entire state of Iowa.

Food and service here are awesome! Pretty good bottle selection but no taps and bottles need to be expanded as does their seating

The shop is small but inside there is so much to enjoy. There's about 80 beer bottles that are all available to go, plus a decent wine selection. The cheese selection is full of quality picks along with meats that compliment the cheese well. The sandwich/soup menu isn't large put puts an emphasis on quality. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and make your meal enjoyable. It's in the Shops of Roosevelt, so you can park and also get craft liquor, a tattoo, and a haircut.

Interesting selection of beers and wines for what seems like retail prices. The cheese selection was phenomenal. The wait time was about 45 minutes to belly-up to the bar since seating is limited. In the meantime we were served beers and were given the menu to look at. We started with the beers and shared a bottle of wine to accompany a charcuterie and cheese plate. The staff was extremely helpful and provided excellent service. We will definitely be back.
