Like traditional pale ales, Tankhouse Ale has a deep copper-red colour. We use five different malts to produce a complex malty texture. The most dominant character of our Pale Ale is the hop. The spicy Cascades is used to give an assertive hop flavour, aroma and bitterness to our ale. The result is a satisfying and complex-tasting beer. Our brewmaster developed this recipe 20 years ago and it has remained his favorite drink of choice.

Amber colored and clear. Excellent lacing throughout the tasting from the small but laying head.
Caramel to toffee nose. Lighter toast. Relatively dry given the smell.
The taste has elements of toffee and fresh tiled earth. Chewy body with an average carbonation level. The swallow brings forth a straight up bitter. Decent lasting aftertaste.

I bought a can at the beerstore in Ontario 473ml at 5.2%.
poured a 1finger head into glass the color was reddish clear with good carbonation.
the taste is balanced with a little caramel malts .
smooth a little bitterness with a sweet finish.
overall a good pale ale not that much sweetness or bitterness then most pale ales tasted more like an amber ale .
cheers.

Deep red color with bronze hue with foamy ,creamy head that keeps its form. Makes for an enjoyable session. Good lacing. Toasty, malt and caramel taste and smell. Bitter after taste present on the pallet. It's also balanced off with an interesting sweet finish which gives it a unique feel. Moderate carbonation. It's an ale alright.

L: pours a brownish copper, opaque, moderate head.
S: malty aroma with some roasted caramel notes
T: bready with caramel malts - tastes more like an amber than a pale ale. The flavour of the hops doesn't come across particularly well.
F: a touch watery, though fairly robust in body. Goes down easily.
O: a nice beer, one which helped me into the craft beer world. It tasted better when I was only had lagers to compare it to, but still a well-rounded brew. Probably my favourite from Mill Street!

Had from the tap while sitting outside this craft brewery in Toronto's Distillery District just east of the Central Business District. An enjoyable experience as a tourist (from the Sister City of Chicago) and this is a respectable ale.
Good Looking with a nice cooper whose sparkle is enhanced by the late afternoon sun. Smells mostly of malts and the yeast works up some hard fruits, like apple. The hops don't really come into play until mid-palate which is how a malt-head like me tends to appreciate hops. However, they did stay a little too long... like the very end. So it put an every so slight bitterness on a good experience.
With eight brewpubs, Mill Street seemingly is as much a successful restauranteur as a craft brewer. So, I'd like to sample more of their brews to see their culinary pairings. For the Tankhouse Pale would pair well with many foods.
