Laughing Crow IPA is a more intelligent India Pale Ale. Laughing Crow is brewed with a generous amount of quality hops that brings balance to the sweet malts contained inside. A: Medium yellow in color with a large white head.

S: Citrus with tons of grapefruit, although perhaps just a little bit cloying.

T: Bitter grapefruit, and orange peel. followed by a touch of caramel. Long bitter cling in the finish.

M: Medium body, carbonation is a bit lack luster.

O: Overall a decent sippin' IPA, but nothing out of this world.

12/31/16....pours clear gold, somewhat bright with a white foam lid and active bubbles. Sweet nutty notes. Floral aromas. Peppery bitter malt, forward and fast. Spearmint back. Lemon rind in the close, grapefruit too. Building bitter.

Very clear. Ample carbonation. Little head. Bitter up front with a nice round floral and lightly citrus secondary. I enjoy the balance with malty sweetness. I'm probably 20 miles from Wyndridge, as the crow flies (intended) and will buy this one again.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of melons, some malts. Taste is melons, pine, light malts, moderate bitterness. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer, but the aroma and taste seems just a bit off.

Smells of candied hops and citrus.
Looks a bit lifeless, no carbs or head seen. The color is a clear orange amber.
The taste is hoppy and bitter upfront and then soft and smooth at end.
A good but lifeless beer.

Poured into a 13 oz tulip glass not sure of the bottle date, but I can tell it is fresh. Pours a dark yellow with a 2 inch white head that leaves behind a little lace.

Smell is honeysuckle, pine, lemon, earthy hops, and a little grapefruit.

Taste follows really subtle, bud tasty. Honeysuckle, lemon, pine, and grapefruit really balanced nice.

Mouthfeel is less than medium, plenty of life, not dry, and excellent drinkability.

Overall I wasn't expecting much, it drinks like an IPL. Crisp and tasty.

Closer to APA or English IPA than AIPA. Since Dales is my favorite ale also right at 6.5% abv I figured this would be a good rival. It's a mid-packer but the best of 2 from this brewer.

A. Decent lacing and retention on a heavy pour, but no Torpedo or Dales or Stone.

S. The weakest link here. Too subdued. Even as I let it warm. Fresh hop aromas with grass and dried flowers.
Underneath an ENGLISH plenty of sweet caramel and some mineral and stone.

T. But all the subtle notes of the aroma burst in the taste which is very good. Follows smell with a great blend of hops that are floral, grassy, stoney on top of a sweet malt back bill. Great long arc.

F. Also very good, great finish. Refreshing, fresh, excellent food beer (tonight with fresh garden tomatoes over penne, mozzi, basil peppers, onions, sauce.) Light yet sticky with clean lasting finish.

"More intelligent IPA" is pretense, but I think they mean laid back and not over hopped. And that's the bill

12 oz bottle. Pours hazy golden with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head, nice lacing and lively carbonation. Aroma is of citrusy hops, bready malt and tropical fruit. Body is medium and crisp. Herbal, citrusy hops, bready malt and tropical fruit fill the mouth. Finish is long and dry. Good brew.

I tried this beer at the Pie Factory in Florence, Alabama. It poured a hazy golden with white head that did not leave any lace. The scent had hints of grapefruit bitterness....not the good kind. The taste was bitter through...white grapefruit leaning....not overly easy to drink. The Mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation .. Overall it's ok.
