The colour is deep gold-red, the liquid clear. The two finger compact off-white head sinks slowly leaving lots of lacing on the glass.
The smooth smell got both sweet caramel and citric hops. Some toffee and lemon curd.
The taste is smooth and rich. Malty sweet notes of caramel, toffee and caramel cookies. Smooth bitterness with lemon peels and some grapefruit juice. Medium to full body. The aftertaste got passing hot alcohol, rye bread, grapefruits, butterscotch and ripe plums. The finish is quite bitter with red fruits and a touch of lemon peels.
The carbonation is mild, the mid-sized bubbles are short-lived. The liquid is smooth.
A pleasant balanced brew for those cold winter nights.
