L - pours a solid murky haze. Dirty and unforgiving. Burnt orange hue.

S - immediately dank and spicy. Gritty orange rind with bright melon shining through the grime. Subtle honey and a grassy, earthy character.

T - tangy, spicy, peppery lemon. They pilsner malt gives it that sticky backbone, but the hops impart a floral juiciness laden with mealy, bitter earth. Beautifully contrasting beer between brightness and wild earthiness. Green tropical fruits abound. Finishes like it should be dry and sticky, but remains light on its feet and drinkable.

F - mealy and gritty. Reminds me of Trillium in a way, but this seems more adventurous and "wild". Almost chalky, which is the hallmark of dryness, yet Violet somehow blends several different mouthfeel sensations into one unique identity that perfectly suits the beer's mood.

O - go back and read the review. You ain't getting a TL;DR here. This is not the best brew out there, but it's passionate and full of life and hard work. It is artfully crafted and displays brewing prowess. Tilted Barn contributes to impress!

Poured from a 16 oz can picked up at the brewery yesterday. No date, but I am pretty sure it was canned this week based on the how they say the sell out every weekend.
Pours very opaque, golden juice color, small head some lacing. The nose is rather mild, but hints of melon, pineapple, apricot.
Taste is also mild for the style, but similar flavors at the front. Nice hop finish with mild alcohol warmth. The body is fantastic, great mouth feel, very representative of the style.
Worth the purchase and a great beer but not a wow beer.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a tulip glass.

Pours a hazy golden straw color with a finger of egg shell white head. The head has great retention, leaving a few spots of lace before settling into a thin sheet.

The aroma is incredibly floral up front, followed by a truckload of peach and lemon notes. There's some candied orange and a hint of pine before the sweet bready malt character comes through.

The flavor brings notes of peaches, melons, mangoes, and grapefruit. Finishes quite piney and bitter with a touch of grainy malt.

The feel is medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth, yet exceptionally dry.

Overall, a great IPA that is full of flavor and aroma. Nicely balanced and highly drinkable.

Poured 9/2/16 from a 64oz growler that was filled at the brewery earlier that same day, into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a cloudy yellow color, with a thin white head that fades slowly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains a lot of floral hops, citrus and caramelized malts.

T: The taste starts out sweet with a strong fruity citrus flavor. Then a strong floral hops bitterness quickly follows. The malt character is hearty but not too heavy and provides a very good balance. The after-taste is slightly hoppy and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and very smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Very tasty, goes down quite easily, not too filling, decent kick, very good representation of style, this is a very nice IPA to drink for a long time.
