L - pours a dark sunset orange. Hazy glow in the light. Looks like a fire rests deep within the center of the glass.
S - earthy lime zest. Toasted spicy grapefruit and orange peel. A faint herbal juiciness; maybe some melon, mango, and mint.
T - lot of different parts to this beer. Initial wave of fresh fruit. Peach, mango, and, yes, prickly pear, which is a sweet, but grassy flavor. Kinda like dragonfruit. In the middle, we're hit with sugar. Oozing sweetness, glazed fruit. The last half leaves more cactii and a strong herbal bitterness. It's strange: the fruit flavors are green, yet the stickiness suggests ripeness. Finishes both syrupy and crisp.
F - Tilted Barn always kills it in the feel department. This one's a DIPA, so we get a bit more heft, but it's as creamy and floofy as ever. Swishing between the teeth is a pillowy dream.
O - one of TB's sweeter and juicier offerings, yet still holding dear that beautiful, fresh farm earthiness and grains. Feels so... alive and inspired. Art.

Cloudy, darker gold look. Minor head that settles to a thin film and rim bubbles.
There’s a dankness to the nose, similar to my grandmother’s basement. Behind this is some earthy overtones.
Smooth start to the taste with an almost creamy soft body. The flavor is mostly dry malt base. The hop is subtle until the swallow where it becomes very harsh leaving a long bitter aftertaste.

16oz can dated 5/24/23.
Pours cloudy gold with an inch-plus head of white. Plenty of tattered lacing and persistent retention. Unripe peach, orange, mango in the nose. Pungent. Medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel. Pithy citrus on the palate with minimal malt and a substantial bitterness. Peach skins, orange pith, grapefruit. Finishes bitter and pithy.

Easily among the best of Tilted Barn's NE-style IIPAs I've had, with very low astringency and lacking the dirty dankness of some others.
Very expressive notes of mango, guava, papaya, and pineapple. Very, very smooth mouthfeel, realistically up there with the best in the game.

From a 16oz can, dated 05/24/23. Served in a spiegelau IPA glass.
Pours a hazy-dull apricot-gold with two-plus fingers of soft, lather-like foam. Retention is excellent, leaving a pouffy cap and a heavy curtain of tattered lacing.
Nose is fruity, yeasty. Soft fruity aroma of pineapple and sweet orange.
Taste follows along mostly in line with the nose: earthier maybe, and even yeastier, like white bread and marmite. Tasting pineapple and oily orange peel with a vaporous, flowery finish in the sinuses.
Feel is juicy, gritty, medium-full bodied with ample fine, prickly carbonation. Clean finish with no sense of the 7.8% abv.
Overall, a quite excellent NEDIPA. I’m not sure that that’s what the brewer intended but the yeast is front-and-center, both in the aroma and in the taste, of this otherwise well-balanced, tasty and easy-drinking beer.

A: The beer is very hazy yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left a narrow collar around the edge and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of grapefruit, guava and mango are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has additional notes of grapefruit pith along with a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a bit crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA is packed with flavors of citrusy and tropical fruit hops. It also drinks quite well considering its strength.
Serving type: can
