A: Pours clear golden body with three fingers of white head. Not much lacing.

S: Hint notes of malts and some grains.

T: Oddly tasting grains with some slight malt base.

M: Light bodied with medium-low carbonation, sweet and off aftertaste.

D: Meh, wouldn't go for this if I had the choice.

Poured in a chilled pint glass...

Appearance - beer pours with a large amount of foamy head that disappears quickly. good lacing present. carbonation is normal, however, with some larger than normal carbonation bubbles present.

Smell - nice smelling beer, one thing i notice when poured. Sweet smell of malts present, enjoy the smell.

Taste - a hint of sweetness is present in the taste. goes down real smooth and no aftertaste. definitely a light beer, but a good tasting beer.

Mouthfeel - carbonation remains the same, little bit more of the alcohol is tasted in the mouthfeel.

Drinkability - i enjoyed this beer, will 100% commit to buying it again. Overall it is a nice drinking beer, i guess i may have a preference to beer in bottles, find them to be cleaner tasting.

Very manly bottle, simple with a bison on it, of course this attracted me !
Pours like any euro lager, / pils, has a amber colour. Head is three fingers but vanishes soon. The smell is bland just a little boozy and a little malty, boring though.
The taste is bland simple lager, very usual and nothing special. taste is crisp and goes down well with a malty after taste, simple but nice. Overall this to me is a simple nothing special lager/pils, would happily drink it but not chose it.

500ml bottle. My rep hockey team when I was a teenager was called the Bisons, so I have a bit of a soft spot for the name - now I have a Polish incarnation, through the good graces of imported beer!

This beer pours a clear medium golden yellow colour, with two fat fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and somewhat soapy off-white head, which leaves some random splattered seaspray lace around the glass as it quickly sinks away.

It smells of grainy, bready pale malt, sugary corn, wet grass, and a bit of skunky, weirdly spicy noble hops. The taste is bready, crackery malt, fairly sweet in a honeyed sort of manner, with some subtle, indistinct fruit notes, a bit of further Corn Pop sweetness, and a very low-key earthy, leafy, and musty hop profile.

The carbonation is moderate, the body an adequate medium weight, more or less smooth, and perhaps a little slick. It finishes off-dry, the barley and adjunct malt sweetness working well enough together in holding sway, as the piddly extra booze is unsurprisingly well integrated, and not noticeable at all.

An agreeable plain-ass Euro-lager, if a bit lacking in balancing bitterness, but easy enough to put back, the so-called strong ABV not really a concern. Apparently 'zubr' means 'bison' in Polish, so isn't this then actually called 'Bison Bison' here on BA?

Initial aroma is kind of boring and old. Not really a nice beer in terms of flavour, probably my least favorite Polish beer that I have tried from my local shop. Not a huge amount more to say really, no wonder the bison on the front looks angry like it is about to ram me

I'm afraid that most of these reviews (including what I'm about to post) are attributed to the wrong brewery. The picture shown and the several references in here to Polish beers match the one I had. Meanwhile the Czech Zubr on the brewery's website looks quite different. So, I hope this gets figured out.

NOW. For what it's worth, my 650 ml bottle poured quite clear, a shade darker than the familiar pilsner straw, effervescent but not foamy. A bit of flower and field in the nose, grassy, plus yeast smells, a little toast, a bit of orange pith. Sweet up front in the mouth, surprisingly, caramel malt flavor, buttered toast, orange marmalade (but not THAT sweet). A flick of hops that seems less bitter, maybe a bit of citrus zest, just rounding things off. A bit sticky feeling in the mouth, substantial, but more-ish. Pleasantly beating mundane expectations.

500ml bottle poured into Sam Adams pint glass.

Pours a clear honey yellow with two puffy fingers of eggshell head that leaves globs of foamy lace as it recedes.

Smells of sweet grainy pale malt, mild cooked corn and vegetables, and mild grassy hops.

Taste follows nose with more grainy malt, steamed veg and cut grass hops.

Feels light and crisp. Light bodied with mildly prickly carbonation. Finishes off-sweet.

Verdict: Not bad, but not really worth buying.

Deep clear gold in appearance, sharp chunky white head that dissipates quickly, although lots of carbonation initially.

Grainy, slightly metallic malts on the nose, grassy herbal hops, and a bit of veg.

It seems the added alcohol boost is what actually detracts from what would otherwise seem as an okay, if not inoffensive tasting euro lager. Husky grains with a metallic twang, some sour corn mash, and nearing skunky hop finish. Remove the sourness from the malts and it'd have potential.

Light, watery mouthfeel although not quite to the point of being swilly.

Won't be a return customer on this one, although it's a bit more palatable than many of the Eastern European lagers on the local shelves these days.

This half litre brown bottle claims 6.00% ABV, obtained in London while visiting my son.

Poured into a 'paderborner Goldpilsner' vase and a smaller Budweiser Budvar tasting glass.

Looked as good as any lager/pilsner when poured: good golden hue, large white head, clear and clean body.

Sweeter than most Eastern Block pilsners, in both smell and taste, almost pleasant! Certainly better than a few I've tasted over the years. I expected bog stanard Euro Fizz, but this a whole lot better than that, in all aspects.

500ml Bottle

Appearance - Clear gold/yellow colour with a large size fizzy and frothy white coloured head. There is a below average amount of carbonation showing and there is a fair amount of lacing. The head lasted for around 5 minutes before it was gone.

Smell - Grains, malts, grass, corn

Taste & Mouth - The beer has an above average amount of carbonation. I can taste grains mixed with malts and some cooked corn. There is also a bit of a fruit sweetness.. lemons and perhaps apples or pears. It finishes with a grainy aftertaste with a touch of sweetness.

Overall – Another average euro beer.. It would benefit from some more hop bitterness to balance out the taste a little bit. I wouldn't buy this beer again.

A bit grainy for a Czech pivo, but at this ABV I think it is for the Polish and Russian market. Won't buy again but there are worse beer evils in the world.

Shared a bottle of this with my wife at a restaurant in Krakow. Poured cool into a tall pils glass.

A-yellow amber body, white head with decent retention.

S-grain, clean

T-flat flavor. Nothing pronounced, some cereal and stale hop.

M-light

D-not much off here in flavor but overall very non-descript. I would not want this beer again.

500ml can hauled back from Poland by my friend Kris. Thanks!

Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed a 1 1/2" white head above the clear bright golden brew. Head dwindles slowly, with acceptable lacing. Aroma is effervescent and sweet, in a adjunct sort of way. Taste is the same sweetness upfront, with a malt liquorish lack of hops character. Mouthfeel and drinkability are both about what you expect for the style, for better or worse. A reasonable example of what they are trying to be.
