So from my brief research, this seems to be a Polish company with a Dutch/Belgian name, and the beer is called a "cerveza" which is Spanish for beer, and the bottle is shaped like a Corona and is called "Extra" like a Corona also. So the Polish brewers are trying to make us think that it is not Polish. Interesting. Should I put a lime in or not?

Ingredients are a little scary. Antioxidants? Absorbic acid? Barley, corn and rice? Wow. As hops is a preservative, it surprises me that they add an extra one. Not to mention alcohol is a preservative too.

Very pale appearance like a corona. Some rather large bubbles. But overall looks pretty good, with good carbonation and a smooth head.

Aroma is a little musky. But kind of interesting. Like crunchy nut cornflakes and ricicles (rice crispes with added sugar) mixed together. I don't reallhy like it. It's kind of like sugar puffs also, which I never liked. With some marshmallow aroma coming through. Like Lucky Charms. It's like a mixture of all of the cereals that I didn't like when I was a boy.

Flavour is sweet, very sweet. It just tastes like a soggy breakfast cereal cocktail that has been brewed for 1 year. Very faint hops. Worse than a corona, this definitely needs a lime for sure. I guess this is why they made the bottle look like a Corona and called it a cerveza instead of a beer. Or a piwo. Watery mouth feel.

When a beer tries to pretend it is Dutch, Belgian, Spanish and Mexican, when it isn't, this is not a good sign. If you make a good product, you should be proud of the country where it is made. And antioxidants in a beer? Are you serious?

DATE: October 23, 2020... OCCASSION: celebrating another distance learning weekend and Michael's Titans winning a close one... GLASSWARE: Warsteiner pokal... first thought: a Polish beer named Cortes? okay, let's move beyond that oddity to its pour... and it frames well, with a thick three-finger snowcap of a head that crackles atop a rich, golden body stoked by constant bubbles... it welcomes in this respect, which is more than I can say for its aroma, which suggested candied apple, garden hose metal, cheaper perfume, and an odd absence of malts--no cracker, bread, caramel, or anything approximating that ingredient... its body is oily, viscous and lingering at the throat--in fact, its syrupy quality coats and remains well after its sip, though that isn't necessarily desirable... its flavor is candied with a sugary finish ad rather void of characteristics on the whole... it is a bit acidic in the finish as well, with the malts lacking in the profile as well... it doesn't refresh as a Corona, and it doesn't bring much in taste to the table, so I am not sure what to like here... in fact, I will just say this will most likely be the last Cortes I drink...

Pours clear, gold in color with 1/2 inch head. Taste is Chex cereal and grain. Light bodied, clean, sweet with high carbonation. Exceptionally smooth. Very good for the style. One of the better Polish AALs. Could easily crush a six pack of this. Great for what it is.

I always wonder why Mexican cerveza have to get a low score... why they are always rated "poor" or "terrible"... Well, I do like them. And I don't evaluate them in comparison with the best craft beers. I just rate them for what they are and how they make me feel on a hot summer night or at the end of a long day. We must appreciate that refreshing aaaah! when drinking it ice cold! It's like a cold Pepsi - and I never think that it should be a Dom Perrignon... It IS good for what it is.
