This was my goto beer when I lived in Bar Harbor. A very good WC style IPA. Nice and bitter which complemented a rack of barbecued ribs. It was regularly available on tap, fresh from the brewery at Mainley Meat.

Can: Poured a yellow color IPA with a nice large white foamy head with OK carbonation with some lacing. Aroma of bitter hops notes with some citrusy notes and light bitterness. Taste is a mix of bitter hops notes with some citrusy notes and some dry malt notes Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Middle of the road old school style double IPA.

On tap. White head. Some lace.
Cloudy yellow golden color.
Earthy, citrusy, floral, fruity. Grapefruit and orange citrus. Hoppy with some nice bitterness. Very easy drinking. A nice ipa.

Had a pint with lunch today 8-27-18 at Testa's on Main St in Bar Harbor, ME.
Beer was served golden with a nice white head initially.
Nose had hints of floral and citrus hops.
Taste was pretty well balanced between the moderate malt base and the grapefruit and pine hop bill. Finish was modestly bitter; 5/10 on my scale.
Mouthfeel was medium bodied and fairly refreshing.
Overall a serviceable ipa. Not sure how this was classified as a Double IPA.

Look: Hazy copper pale color. Bright white head.
Smell: Smelled of citrus and berries.
Taste: Pleasant flavor of citrus and pine. Good balance of bitterness with no overpowering sides to it.
Feel: Typical IPA feel. light and crisp.
Over all: a very drinkable beer for a guy that is not the biggest fan of IPAs. was expecting something more like the New Guy IPA and was happy this was what it turned out to be.

Had on tap at the brewery. Pours hazy, bright orange-gold in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is tangerine, pine, tea, and some soapiness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Bitter with a long bitter end. Not a bad double IPA but very much one I find to be in the middle of the pack. A pass for me although I am sure there are those who will enjoy this.

A little malty for me, but a nice IPA... Hardly a double but a nice choice at dinner.

Poured from a 12 oz brown bottle poured into a clear glass stemmed tulip. Best by 011717 on bottle neck.
A: Light amber with 1-finger off-white head with good retention and a stripe of lacing at the top of the glass.
S: Dank, earthy, resiny, tobacco, tea-like hoppiness with some light grapefruit-lemon touches. Light caramel maltiness sneaks into the aroma at the edges.
T: Flavor is dank and earthy with a good melding of light caramel malt flavors with the lemon-black tea, slightly grapefruit, pine resin flavor really coming together nicely. I don't detect any oxidation notes. The bitterness is medium-high but not overbearing. I like that this beer plays up the lighter malt note with a highly bitter note. I like this beer better than the Alesmith IPA I had most recently -- this beer is tannin-free despite the tea flavor, there is tea flavor but not the puckering tannin bitterness.
M: Very drinkable with medium body at most with light carbonation and dry, dry finish enhanced by the bitterness.
O: I wasn't expecting much from the reviews, but this beer comes off as an imperial English IPA, like the Greene King IPA style of English IPA as the base. I liked this beer a lot more than others on the site, but it has a unique earthy, herbal hop profile with delicate malt contributions that give this beer balance despite the high bitterness. Really delicious beer and unique.
