When you are out in the woods cutting trees all day you want a refreshing beer with some good honest flavor. We wanted to make a brew that would celebrate Maine’s logging heritage — plus it had to be fun to say! Our Logger Lager is the perfect brew to meet those needs. We ferment this beer traditionally in the late winter and lager it over the early spring. By the time the ice is out of the Maine lakes, our lager is ready to enjoy.

On tap at Robert's in Kittery Maine.
Pours clear golden yellow, nicely colored, touched of white foam. Light smell, some malt in there. Good clean taste, very light, slight hop backbone. Overall a very clean drinker - light on substance, but very tasty.
Good beer - not my first pick when the weather gets cold, but could easily see it in the warmer months.

Can: Poured a clear golden color lager with a nice large white foamy head with OK carbonation with some lacing. Aroma of clean cereal notes with light herbal notes. Taste is a mix of cereal notes with some light herbal notes with some faint residual sugar notes. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Drinkable standard american style lager.

I brought a can of this beer back from our vacation to Bangor and Bar Harbor. It poured a clear golden with white head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had faint grain notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with biscuit presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a solid beer.

Into a pilsener:
A: straw yellow colored body with a thick white head that quickly dissipated. Just some hints of lacing down the glass.
S: some cooked corn to it, and then some floral notes with just a tad of maltiness to it.
T: malts, cooked corn again, floral
M: light to medium, sessionable,
O: decent, might have it again depending upon what else was served

Poured from bottle into a pint.
Appearance: Golden yellow color and clear. decent carbonation. About 1 finger of white head that last about a minute and left no lacing on the glass.
Smell: Sweet smelling, similar to most American Lagers, but it had some hoppier charcteristics to it.
Mouthfeel/Taste: Light bodied and not as smooth as I would have thought, but it did go down easy. Taste is bittersweet hops and some pine like notes to it. Bitter aftertaste.
Overall: Good, drinkable beer. Better than I had expected.

12oz bottle into a Duvel tulip.
A: Clear gold body beneath an inch of dense, foamy white head. Ok retention and light lace. Attractive.
S: Simple, enjoyable balance of bready malt and herbal hops. A hint of pine lends it a pleasantly woodsy character to match its name. For what it is, I like it.
T: Sweeter here, with maltiness dominating the front and middle; the herbal hops are relegated to the finish, where they lend a touch of bitterness and a lingering vegetal twang. Still a good example of the style, but not as good as the nose.
M: Creamy, lively, and surprisingly substantial. Really, really nice.
O: This isn't a style that merits high expectations, and this isn't a terribly memorable beer by any stretch. That said, it does what it sets out to do pretty well. I'd be happy to drink a few out on a boat, or sitting around a bonfire. Not a bad little lager.
Cheers!

glowing straw color with a decent sized-head that recedes to a thin film while lacing well.
mmmm... DMS. smells like the water you discard after you boil veggies. some herbal hops sneak in as well as some pale malts.
a decent hop kick starts out before its overtaken by some pale malts and a slightly bitter/herbal finish.
somewhat crisp, but a bit syrupy with an abundance of carbonation and a lingering aftertaste.
meh... it meets the style. but, not much else. a bit hoppier, perhaps, than the majority of the style.

Poured on tap into a shaker pint glass at Robert's Maine Grill Kittery.
Not poured with any head, just to the rim, manages a solid collar while drinking and a nice clear brass eighteen carat gold. Very shiny. Some small rising carbonation.
Smell is a little subdued, but a nice light malt with a bit of spiciness. Sweet honey as well.
Taste matches the nose but much bolder. Good mid palate of bread white toast, and a nice tolerable sweet honey finish. Texture is slightly crisp, but not a wet or syrup mess. Slight hop bent as well in places too.
Overall this is a real solid lager, a nice little sweetness with honey and mild hop. Great soild beer.
