Review: Bottle of Moosehead Lager: ABV: 5.0%

The flagship brand is one of the most consumed beers in Canada

Pours a really lovely clear golden yellow that produces a nice big frothy head which hangs around

Is fizzy, a lot of good carbonation,

A pretty clean lovely looking beer

Aroma: Real lager smell, hoppy, sweet and lovely, liked it, the light grains and malty aromas. Nice

Taste: Extremely smooth beer, very easy to drink, such a shame I only got the two bottles as I would have easily devoured a 6 pack of these no problem.
Very creamy on tongue
No real strong stand out flavours per say, couldn’t really taste the hops, but nice all the same
I did, though, get nice big mouthfuls of barely and malts. Very smooth finish, not a heavy beer, very refreshing, I like it.

So overall I liked it. Looks good, smells good, tastes good and very smooth, and clean and crisp. That’s all the boxes ticked, and its a beer I will pick up again. I wasn’t expecting much from a Canadian beer, so it was nice to be pleasantly surprised. Definitely a beer for a sporting occasion on a hot day, very sessionable.

The Bull Moose has been neutered.

Years ago this was good beer, rich, flavorful, malty with just enough hop bite. Not so much now. Buyouts, streamlined production, competition imposing a price ceiling, whatever, it's changed and not for the better. Most recent tasting revealed something lightened up with less of what made it desirable, less hops, less malt, less balance. Sorta like a committee designed AAL.

Good pounder for football game parties. If your friends normally drink Bud Light they might even consider this the good stuff.

Moosehead beer is , without question, Nectar Of The Gods!! It is an iconic brew that has been true since 1867... It has a distinct taste that is unmistakable and pairs perfectly with hot days and skunk#1.... Solid in taste and alcohol content... Not a fad beer ... Not pandering to the latest fashion... Proudly independent... As far as the test of time, THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!!! Unapologetically authentic and bows to no fashion , real men can drink it and celebrate ;). Fashion beer of the month club, look elsewhere!
