473 mL can from the LCBO; coded Dec 8 2020 and served slightly chilled. Could've sworn I already reviewed this, but that must've been a 'different' Moosehead radler.
Pours a foggy, translucent pale golden colour, producing roughly one finger of smooth, foamy white head that lasts for three minutes or so. It leaves behind a generous collar of creamy-looking froth, as well as a filmy-thin cap; good lace deposition, too. Grapefruit candy and lemonade on the nose, with maybe a hint of grape juice.
Not bad, but not great either - the grapefruit flavour starts off adequately, but fades into near-total obscurity by the end of the sip. Beyond that, I'm getting grape juice and lemonade, with subtle flavours of graininess creeping up on the back end and into a mildly fruity-sweet aftertaste. Light-medium in body, with moderate carbonation levels that impart a little bit of crispness, frothing up in the mouth a bit. Easy to toss back, but that's not saying much for this style.
Final Grade: 3.33, a manageable B-. After finishing this review, I looked back at my notes on the 'old' "Moosehead Radler", and it quickly became clear that I was repeating the same complaints I'd made last time. So my guess is that Grapefruit Radler is the same product, just with a more classy label. I like my radlers to be citrusy first and foremost, and not so aggressively back-sweetened... but this one mostly fails on both accounts. Sure, there's some grapefruit at the forefront, but the lemonade/candy sugar aspects dominate the profile, and the grapefruit doesn't last through to the finish. A serviceable radler, but there's others I'd reach for well before returning to this one - Stiegl's, for instance, which is still king of the radler hill as far as I'm concerned.

Hazy straw yellow with a foamy head. Pithy grapefruit nose, inviting. Thin body, light beer flavour, a little sweet.

16oz can split into snifters;
A: Straw colored and slightly hazy; big foamy white head recedes and leaves good lacing.
S: Big sweet grapefruit; a little rindy but leaning sugary. Lots of citrus, lemon as well.
T: Lots of big pink grapefruit character, leaning more sweet and citrusy/juicy and not so much tart. Authentic and juicy, sweet and almost sugary. The palate blends lots of citrus with the grapefruit, sweet tangerine, sweet orange, citrus zest...fun stuff!
MF: Sweet, light, somewhat effervescent but not overly carbed.
O: Really fun and good, an excellent Radler in my opinion. Doesn’t taste like beer, no malt character, but that’s accurate! Definitely on the sweet side though. A great summer drink!

473ml can - conveniently sold as singles, rather than a typical case. Also, according to the label, there is more grape juice than grapefruit juice in this thing. WTF?
This beer pours a hazy, pale golden yellow colour, with a teeming tower of puffy, finely foamy, and mildly bubbly off-white head, which leaves some decent splotchy lace around the glass as it slowly evaporates.
It smells of American bottled grapefruit juice (so, sugared), grainy and crackery cereal malt, lemonade, and not much else. The taste is bready and grainy pale malt, some mixed domestic citrus fruitiness, simple syrup, a touch of lager yeast, and some ethereal floral, musty, and straw-like (hop?) bitterness.
The carbonation is quite active in its palate-coating frothiness, the body a so-so medium weight, and mostly smooth, but for a fruity clamminess evolving as things warm up a tad around here. It finishes off-dry, the frooty essences basically spent.
Overall - this one starts off with a bang, but ends with a whimper. The grapefruit & friends character fades fast, until what we're left with is a very boring old lager (or 'beer', as the ingredient list so helpfully reads). Refreshing enough, I suppose, but there are better citrus Radlers out there to be had.
