Just what a double IPA should be. No "fruit", honey isn't overpowering. Double Bitter, strong. I like it better than hopslam, as less of a honey taste and again, more bitter. This may be my reference double. "Very good" rating is a severe understatement. Perhaps its the "fruity" crowd that is skewing the results. I'll be unhappy when this isn't on tap at the sketchbook brewery

Good overall, and nothing objectionable, for sure. I liked the faint honey at the back, as another reviewer wrote. I think it does balance out some of the dank bitterness and citrus. I wish the honey was more prominent, as more of a featured taste rather than a subtle balancing note in the flavor. I may try this again.

Normally I don’t write a review of the first can in a four or six pack. I’ll make an exception with this one. I normally don’t go for Sketchbook’s stuff, but I saw Double IPA with honey, which immediately makes me think of Hopslam and Square (Emerald) Grouper, two of my favorite beers, and I had to try this.
Good call.
It’s dark gold/bronze, hard to see through, mild head and lacing. Smell is dank, bitter, oniony, with a little sweet honey in the back. Taste is, in this order: medium bitterness, kind of dank, mildly sweet, and slightly malty. Feel is mouth watering, boldly bodied, and quite boozy.
Much better than I expected, and much better than rated.

1 PINT can
Served in an oversized, stemless, wine glass
This beer pours a brilliant amber color with burnt orange highlights. It is topped with a couple inches of off white head that leaves decent lacing.
The aroma is dank and citrusy.
The taste is dank and resiny without much bitterness. I get some citrus. The finish is slightly bitter.
Medium bodied. Smooth mouthfeel
This is a very enjoyable beer. The best of the mix eight pack that I purchased at the taproom. It makes me wish I had bought more of this one.

Can from the brewery. Fresh, and softer mouthfeel from the honey. Decent hoppiness. Although not the greatest DIPA, still good drinkability. Big lace trail.

Dark golden orange with a honey sweetness. Very easy to drink, goes down smooth.
