look: 3.75 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4 | overall: 4.25

Appearance: Pours a pale, hazy yellow color typical of most hazy IPAs. A crisp, but sticky, mild white head that lingers.
Aroma: Strong aromas of primarily orange, grapefruit, and pineapple. Almost like a Capri Sun. Tons of grapefruit mostly.
Flavor: The flavor is mild, but sort of as expected for this lighter IPA. Taste follows the nose with lots of grapefruit and orange juice. Some pineapple and guava. Almost no malt profile. Mild pale malt if any. A light pine bitterness and finishes dry.
Feel: The mouthfeel is light. and crispy. Well carbonated. Finishes dry without any astringency or bitterness.

Overall: This is a sessionable juice bomb. OJ and Grapefuit. Light, crispy, and citrusy. Not sweet and great carbonation to dry the palate. Its actually really flavorful for the ABV. A much better sessionable IPA than I was expecting. Not a New-England style in terms of mouthfeel, but has great citrus flavor and carbonation for the ABV. For a juicy, session IPA it's great.

Poured from a canned dated 10/16/18 into a pint class on 12/31

Look- Very large head upon pour. Hazy, yellow/orange color. Lots of carbonation is visible.

Smell- light fruity aroma. Can detect a small hop aroma, but nothing overpowering.

Taste- Not as fruity/dank as I expected from a brew labeled as a hazy IPA. Starts with a floral taste that is quickly followed by a heavy hop finish.

Feel- high carbonation, very light mouth feel.

Overall- A good, not great NE IPA. It is more hop forward than I expected. I kind of enjoyed the light body of it, as I didn't feel as full upon finishing the beer.

Look is a bright cloudy yellow.
Smell is not too strong considering the amount of fruit ingredients.
Taste is not too bad, a bit on the bitter side.
Feel is fine, but a tad bit over carbonated.
Overall it’s a decent beer, I’d like to try it on draft someday.

Pours a clear and bright sunny yellow.

Bright citrus notes and cracker like malt aroma.

Cracker like malt sweetness and bright citrus/orange.

Light-bodied, high carbonation, crisp.

Overall, a drinkable brew but needs some work.

Hazy-ish, but not opaque. Suspended sediment visible, which could be a sign of age, but not date stamp on the cans.
Sheet of stick lace in the glass. Smells like yeast and pencil erasers, where's the hops?
Lemony citrus taste, a bit estery and bland. Some green botanical bitterness in the background.
Medium bodied, slick and kind of a bland vegetal aftertaste. Overall tim hasn't been kind.
Glad this was a single, but I won't be buying it again.

16oz can, no apparent freshness date. Hazy and nearly opaque golden body with a foamy white head. Juicy & tropical aroma that hints toward pineapple and passion fruit, with a wheaty malt and a bit of Mandarin orange. Big tropical hop flavors with notes of pineapple, guava, passion fruit, mango, Mandarin orange, lemon juice & zest; mild wheat malt. Lighter body, a bit tart and puckering, but finishes bitter. Overall: good juicy flavors and aroma, but the body is so light, that it is distracting to the overall experience.

16oz can, dated 12.07.17, poured into a 14oz snifter glass.

The beer pours a bright golden straw color, hazy and cloudy but with some moderate clarity and a fizzy white head, about a finger high that has low retention but yields nice swatches of soapy lace. The aroma is good, bright citrus, lightly floral but very grassy with some light pine, soft wildflower and lots of pale biscuit grain. The flavors are good, lots of bready and pale grain, light mineral water and nice grassy and green hops, raw hop leaf, light pine, mild hop spice, lemon citrus with some bitter grapefruit peel that lingers nicely. The mouthfeel is good, lighter medium body, coating, crisp with assertive carbonation that doesn't get too abrasive and a dry finish.

Verdict: A very good IPA from Sketchbook Brewing. Flavorful, fairly bright, refreshing and very easy going at 5.00% ABV. Simple but there isn't anything wrong with that when done well.

Wow I was so disappointed in this beer.... Thin, weak, small taste... If Bud Light were double dry-hopped, this is what I would imagine it would taste like. Boo

16 oz can poured into can glass canned on 10/17.

A: Nice Fat Soapy Head. Body is a tan murky yellow in color.

S: Pineapple, Light Orange mostly yeast.

T: Nice Light flavors of tangerine orange honeydew fairly juicy the yeasty smell is only a background in the taste.

M; medium bodied ok carbonation lighter mouthfeel.

O: this is a solid beer. Although, draft magazine must be a tiny publication if they put this at #17 of their all time IPAs. Nice juicy flavors, but they don’t pop.

Says it's an east coast style, and the can description hints at NE IPA: somewhere between the two. Straw colored, hazy. Juicy, fruity hops up front with a bitter chomp on the back end. Ultimately, the bitterness destroys the chance of being called an NE IPA. It's very similar to the War Pigs Lazurite, IMO.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a 1 pint can on August

tropical flavor—like a mango-guava-pineapple smoothie topped with Cool Whip—seems to have been squeezed into a space almost too small to hold it. The soft pastry dough base and hint of wheatgrass provide balance for the fruits while low, clean bitterness leads to a dry, even finish, but the beer is still intensely tropical

Canned 8/10/17; drank 8/22/17 @ the Yarchives.

Cloudy orange/yellow appearance.

A violent pour yielded a big, noisy bright white head; thick, frothy tree-rung lace.

Lemon & mild cane sugar notes in the nose.

Medium thin mouthfeel.

Lemon & watermelon jolly rancher flavors up front; mild bite on the finish.

The flavors clashed rather than melded for me on this; interesting, but I wish I only had 1 and not 3 more. Not one to seek out.

If you are not used to this style, it can be somewhat offputting if you are used to crystal clear filtered beer. But if you know about these and you drink them regularly, you will quickly note that Sketchbook has created a gem with this beer. It was hazy, juicy, and aromatic for days; all done very well to match the New England style. One of the better beers I had this summer.
