Pours a hazy straw yellow. Azacca and Citra make this a nice, bright IPA. There's a sweetness I didn't expect from a rye beer (assume it's from the Azacca), but I think it adds to the balance of flavors.

16 oz can dated 7/27/17 - about 3 weeks old

I had this one on tap there and it was not necessarily in my wheelhouse being a Rye but it was different - and good. It has the pale orange/yellow color of one but it is full of adjuncts to make it cloudy so it has a different feel and taste than average. The pour does not have much of a head and there seems to rye/wheat taste to it behind but there are ample hops up front to make you forget about styles. The hops seem to be in the grape, tangerine, and stone fruit category with a bit of tartness, but there is a sweetness that would make most palates feel like it has tropical citrus notes. Feel is smooth and creamy as expected with a moderate amount of seltzer. Body is thin on malts so it is crisp tasting but the creaminess makes up for it to give it a rich mouth feel.

I've been a bit down on GC lately as I feel they make too many "ephemeral" beers, meaning the hops taste pungent for the first few days then they disappear leaving whatever background they used to compliment the hops. Sometimes that background is not very good on its own. So I was a little worried about this one being 3 weeks old. I still think the hops dies off for it but the base flavors are really great.

[Edit 9/10/17 - just had one fresh from the brewery and I think this is all right on, but the flavor & nose is more rich than I remember. I raised the aroma from 3.75 to 4.25 accordingly, This is a damn good beer.]
