This pilsner from Austria pours a light, straw yellow color with a good amount of carbonation and a thin white head. It has a faint scent, but it is the typical pilsner aroma: a little yeasty and mildly acrid. The flavors are clean, but uninspiring with typical yeasty beer flavors with a slight hop bitterness in the finish. The body is light and refreshing though the finish is somewhat dry. It is a pretty typical pilsner really. It’s not as good as many of the pilsners that I’ve had from Germany or the Czech Republic of course, but it is a better than most from America. The 5.4% alcohol is a little extra bang for your buck, but since I bought this in Berlin I could probably get two Kindl’s for the same price and they are at least as good.

Half litre bottle.

A: Very pale, tiny head, faded, no
lacing, very clear.

S: Some noble hop, Hallertau,
Saaz? Some musty grain, bit of malt.

T: Bready bitterness, notes of fruit, slight sweetness
balanced it out.

M: Well carbonated, coarse,
heavy body and thick texture for the style.

O: Very much like a south German pils, a thirst quencher,
subtle.
