Better than average atmosphere for an Arizona brewpub. Very good bar food, have only tried the Street Cred beer as of yet, but am dying to try the rest. The service is top notch and the prices are more than reasonable. I definitely look forward to my next visit and many more to come. I am very impressed with these guys at this stage in their evolution. This place could easily blow up and get huge, so get here before it does.

Fairly small brewery located in a strip mall next to a movie theater. Fairly minimum decor with about 10 or so rotating drafts. They also serve booze here as well. Bartender was friendly and paid attention. Beer was so so. Some good, some not so good and 1 standout.

Cool little spot with a fantastic name. Stopped in on a road trip and was a bit surprised to find it in a shopping center instead of a random warehouse space somewhere, but it totally works. We were there on a Tuesday around noon so it wasn't super busy, but I imagine it picks up later. Our bartender was awesome. He happily chatted with us and made sure we were well taken care of. All the beers we tried were solid. Wish we had a chance to try more. The tap list was fairly extensive with a full variety of styles. Because it was Tuesday they had $2 tacos that hit the spot. If I find myself in the Phoenix area again I'll definitely find my way back here.

Phoenix-area breweries have an interesting vibe to them. Arizona Wilderness was as much brewpub/restaurant as brewery. Beer Research Institute, in a shopping center, felt like a place I'd get some Vietnamese food or something.

Long story short, it doesn't have the cozy, homey feel of a brewery.

The beers are plentiful and they have some barrel-aged brews and double IPAs to satisfy the beer geek. The results vary though. One of the barrel-aged beers I tried showed some tartness and the IPAs were not breaking any new ground.

The sheer variety though is nice and they get an A for effort. When compared to AZ Wilderness, I'd say they had an equal number of successes to misses.

I would definitely suggest this place for a try you won't be disappointed.

Lunch and a flight on a Monday afternoon. Light crowd for a weekday afternoon of course. 15 handles, pints are $6 and up. Variety is pretty wide. Service was awesome with a very knowledgable bartender. Food was also amazing, with a great burger. Overall I just wish this was closer to the tourist center. Highly recommended

Small place in a strip mall near the theater, wasn't expecting a ton. Boy was I in for a surprise!

Beer was all good to great, with the Barrel Aged Dark Side Till I Die topping the list. Flights were in a large holder resembling a set of brass knuckles, and all in laboratory beakers (as befits a place call Beer RESEARCH Institute.

Service was quick and responsive, and the poutine is excellent! Will return again and again!

Came in on a Monday at 2:30, so about the least busy time I can imagine a brewpub having. There were a few people who came in for a drink at the bar but nobody eating. Didn't try the food, but the beers were amazing and best of the 10ish breweries we tried in Phoenix area. About 12 of their beers on tap and 5 guest taps including Black Butte XXVII. Could do flights of 4 and sample anything. Most styles were higher abv. All were delicious. Decor was cool with science themed beaker tap handles and glasses. Sacks of grain and brewing equipment around but not in a messy way. We were lucky enough to have one of the Brewers tending the bar while there who was really cool explaining the beers and specifics of how they brewed them. This is my number 1 go to in the area.

After two visits this has become one of my favorite places in the area. A little out of the way from where I usually stay in Scottsdale but well worth the extra time to get there.

Friendly vibe and cool look. The "Research Institute" theme is appealing, with small beakers for flights, edison lighting sealed in Erlenmeyer flasks and White Labs yeast tubes used for tap handles. Not sure the sampler trays in the shape of brass knuckles fits but it's fun anyway.

8 or so house beers and about 4 guest beers at any one time. A very strong lineup. My favorites were the Street Cred black IPA and the 480g West Coast IPA. Good lineup all around, though. The Lolli Belgian blond is nice too.

Good food. I had a chicken sandwich which was good. The highlight for me is the Spanglish, essentially a BLT with egg and cheese with their "Meat Candy" (sriracha candied bacon; terrible name but tasty!) instead of bacon.

Great spot!

Basic vibe with the theme guessed it, research stuff. Beakers and cylinders line the wall, very basic furniture with community tables, patio and booths. Beer selection was more than I'd seen before with 7-8 house brews and some guest taps. For a new spot, they are making some very decent beer. Most new breweries in AZ were not pumping out this quality of beer in the first few months. Our service was sub-par due to lack of servers being scheduled but our guy was nice and had a great attitude. Selection of food was good for a brewery in a strip mall, and if you have any issues with that, the quality is fucking outstanding. The food is stellar in every way and even if you HATE beer, it's worth the stop to grab some grub.

Smaller brew pub, good atmosphere. I had the Vanilla Porter and I recommend that. The "Belgian Tickler" is a very good Belgian. I recommend you try out this one.

Open but cozy space plan. Beer selection is always good from their beers to their guest taps there is always a wide variety. The food is fantastic,( I personally recommended the Spanglish) and it's the only place in the world that has meat candy! The staff is super knowledgable and friendly. If you're in Mesa you have to stop by.

Da Boss and I stopped in earlier today for lunch.

The vibe was OK as I enjoyed the music selection but the dining area was nothing special. One of the proprietors acknowledged us which is appreciated.

Quality of the beers was pretty good. I did get the sampler tray which include two saisons, a Belgian blonde and the red ipa. The D'Hiver was good but the Farmhouse had a bit of a medicinal taste. The Lolli was a strong blonde and was ok. The Red ipa was pretty good as well.

Service was very friendly and prompt from the young gentleman. I did not catch his name but he was very friendly and was interested enough to tell me about the IPA's fermenting. It was not very busy on a Saturday early afternoon so I would be curious to see how the service is during a Friday night happy hour.

Selection of beer was pretty good. 15 taps of craft beer 5 years ago would have rated a 4.25 but in the craft explosion that has occurred the last 5 years the selection is just pretty good. The home brewed beers were pretty solid and the guest tap list included BP Double Dorado, a couple of Odell's, a coupe of Santan's, amongst others.

The food was good. I had the SW BBQ pork sandwich Carolina style. Da Boss had the Silly Cheese Steak which she complimented. Fries were OK.

I would definitely come back but given we live 40 miles away that likely will not happen for awhile. It is definitely worth a visit.

One of the many new places popping up every month. Their beers still need some work, the IPA was ok, not great but ok. Thankfully they have a few good guest taps that saved the day. Only food we ate was the candied bacon but it was good. A heart attack waiting to happen. The place is very small but they said they are working on building a bigger patio area.
