The label mentions the "puissance du hublon aromatique," but if there are Cascade hops in this they are hidden in the peculiar yeasty, vegetal taste. There is a bitter touch along with the dry yeasty finish, but it would be a surprise to our lavish IPA brewers to see hops featured in this.

It's rather sweet in the usual Belgian-esque manner with clear malt, hot with alcohol, and a modest fruity taste like baked pears. Perfectly drinkable and undeniably strong, but hoppy is not what comes to mind. From the 750 ml bottle purchased at a supermarket in Bray-sur-Seine.
