Purchased at the Aldi supermarket. Coming in a 650ml flip-top brown bottle, BB 12/05/2009, served lightly-chilled in a bulb wine glass.

A: dark golden hue, well-lasting huge white frothy head sits on top of abundant but not fierce fizziness.
S: very light maltiness and mild citrusness approach upfront - not complex; a swirl gives rise to faint musty note, oxidised apples, a faint touch of fruit esters, and floral scent of German hops.
T: clean-palated, lager-malts with toasty note, citrus/lemon drink (mixed with egg white), floral hops, leading fast towards a bone-dry palate and chewy-bitter aftertaste, littered with dried citrus zests, spiciness, faint mustiness, and a dry palate that a good Biere de Garde should demonstrate.
M&D: quite soothing on the mouthfeel, with moderate carbonation and a med-bodied; it drinks absolutely dangerously light for a 6.2%abv. ale, although the overall flavour is not complex. All in all, this is a rather easy-drinking and indeed more-ish sample of Biere de Garde.

Bottle which came from a Aldi supermarket in Camberley. Lovely orange colour with a thick white head. The aroma is all malt, however the taste is sweet with a touch of citrus in the mouth which leads to a smooth dry finish. A good beer again from a good french brewery.
