Poured from a green 16.9 oz bottle. Has a rich golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of malts, grains, a touch of sweetness. Taste is crisp, clean, malts and grains, A touch of bitterness at the finish. Tasty. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall I could drink several of these on a hot summer day.

500ml bottle

Pours a very transparent, extremly pale yellow color with a small white head that dissipates very quickly. Good malt sweetness and a hint of bitter hops balance the flavor out. Crisp enough, but more body than expected, creamy feel, moderate carbonation and definitely poundable. Not bad at all.

Brok pours a crystal-clear golden body beneath a short head of bright white foam that dissipates rather quickly and leaves very little lacing behind.

The aroma, thanks to green glass, is clearly skunky. Beyond that there are herbal hops, and some sweetish malt.

The flavor follows suit and the herbal hops appear right upfront. They're unusual, and a bit spicy and earthy too. They almost have a hint of smokiness to them. The malt is sweet and grainy, but it doesn't really come across as an adjunct beer. It's sweetish, but it's not sweet. Its stiff bitterness balances it, and the spicy hops help to cut through it in the finish where some floral and grassy hop flavors join in. In the end, it dries pretty well and leaves you ready for another sip.

Not a bad Euro-style lager. In fact, it's kind of reminiscent of a Dortmunder-style brau. Except maybe backwards, with the hops appearing first in the flavor - ? So, allowing for the green glass (which is still all too common), nicely done.

Picked up a 500ml bottle from EuroMarket in Queens. There was a hint of skunk which quickly disappeared. I was surprised by how sweet this was, considering this is usually a drier style. However, there's a pleasant caramel bread taste with a mild herbal note. My only real qualm is the low carbonation. It's not a bad beer.

A: The beer is crystal clear yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high bright white head that quickly died down into a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: There are light aromas of bready malts and grassy hops in the nose. As the beer begins to warm up, a little sweetness becomes noticeable.
T: Like the smell, no pronounced flavors are present in the taste except for a bit of malty sweetness and a slight amount of bitterness.
M: It feels a little more than light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and quite good when compared to other beers in the style. No aromas or flavors of adjunct malts are detectable.

Green 500ml bottle: BBD 26 Aug 14, poured into an 'Adnams' badged half-pint vase shapped glass (twice) on 10 Nov 13. The bottle was bought at some random Polish shop in Boston, Lincolnshire by my father.

Regular Pilsner/export/lager look: golden, bright and clear, usual fading white head on both pours and a semi-lasting collar.

Faint grainy/malty nose with a hint of sweetness.

The sweetness from the aroma was also present in the taste: again a more grainy/malty feel to the brew, some mild hop bitterness towards the end of each sip, but this is leaning away from hops and heading along a semi-sweet biscuit line of flavours.

Not bad, not good: a run-of-the-mill Polish beer in all aspects.

average as can be.
Appearance is typical euro lager with deficient head.
Smell is skunk and malt, mainly skunk.
Taste is quite decent for a euro lager, easily better than beck's or heinekin.
Mouthfeel is a touch thin, average for a lager.
Drinkabilty is average, cheap but average and not that widely available.

What is Brok? Sounds like a late 80's pop band name. But otherwise it's another Polish brew in my brief beer tour of Poland. Last time we discovered Zywiec, which as I recall was a mostly forgettable experience. Let's see if this late 80's pop band name beer can wow the audience (i.e. me).

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a 500ml Stein glass.

A: Body is a typical clear golden colour. Head is white, with about a centimeter of dense foam. All the lager boxes are ticked so far.

S: The nose hits with that vegetable trash smell (known as "skunk"), followed by a mixture of grains and a candy sugar aroma. There is also a slight cut grass aroma as well.

T: It's alright. Straight away better than Zywiec. Similar to 'Mythos', grain base which is slightly corn flavoured. Sweetbread with a mild sour twang. Low bitterness and not as dry or crisp as other lagers. The cloying (for a lager) sweetness can be found throughout the palate and gives this brew at least one thing to be remembered by. Inoffensive to drink but lacking a little in more interesting flavours (spicy or floral hops).

M: Medium bodied with low carbonation. Maybe all Polish beers are made this way. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

D: Similar to Zywiec in many respects but this brew gives a bit more in the flavour department, and at $3.50 a bottle is a bit of a bargain. It's drinkable for a lager and not bad at all, however if you want a really good beer (at roughly the same price) you only need to travel a few hundred kilometers west to the Czech Republik.

Food match: If we were visiting Poland then I would say things like; pierogi, golabki, mizeria or placki kartoflane. Otherwise I would suggest cuisine like Chinese take away (sweet and sour pork, honey chicken, peking beef... that sort of cooking).

Now is being brewed by Van Pur, Warszawa.
Pours clear golden beer with decent 2-finger white head, fizzy, retention is ok. smell is grainy and a bit hoppy. Taste demonstrates malts, cardboard, evident lack of hops & prevalent blandness. Medium body and carbonation. Drink and forget.

Format: a large 500mL green bottle with a pretty ordinary Euro label.

Appearance: pours a mid amber colour with a half-finger of off-white head that settles to a thin film. Okay.

Aroma: a skunky aroma of sweet malts with a touch of hops.

Taste: pretty much follows the nose. Sweet bread malts with a small amount of grass hops. Pretty unexciting but drinkable.

Aftertaste: still the same flavours following through. There really isn't all that much to this beer.

Mouth feel: light to moderate in body with a medium carbonation.

Overall: not a particularly brilliant beer - just another pretty average Euro lager. AU$67 for a case of 20 x 500mL. I'll be leaving this one on the shelf.

T: Taste of mild citrus and malt sweetness and some grain. Mild bitterness and a fairly clean finish.

F: Light body, bit of crsipness, fairly smooth and refreshing.

O: Fairly decent Euro Lager.

A 500ml green bottle with a BB of Aug 2014. Purchased a little while back from a B&M store.

Poured into a straight pint glass. A clear golden colour with good carbonation. Forms a decent head of white foam that lasts for a minute or two before collapsing to a thin surface film. Aroma of weak malt with hints of corn/DMS, stewed vegetables and leaves. Faintly sweet. Bland and watery.

Tastes of light, watery malt with a mild finish. Notes of corn, overdone veggies, faint stewed husks and a twinge of something that resembles biscuits. A subtle sweetness lurks in the background. No real bitterness to speak of. Mouthfeel is smooth, dry and lightly tingly, with decent carbonation and a thin, watery body. Aftertaste of cabbage water and faint cardboard.

Yucko! As industrial lagers go this is pretty gross. Looks about par for the course, while the aroma and flavour are limp and plagued by off-notes. The faint sweetness doesn't help. Underwhelming body. I want my lager to have a crisp dry finish and decent hop presence. This is disgusting, like boiled grain juice. I can't help feeling the green bottle might be partly responsible for this woeful brew, but at any rate avoid it. Just say no.

The colour is pale yellow; the airy two finger foam sinks slowly making a fizzing sound. No lacing.

The smell is mild. Some sourish notes of dough and hints of bitter hops. I found some alcohol in the background.

The taste is dry with some bitterness right from the start. Notes of French loaf and a sweet touch of white sugar. The aftertaste got some hints of bitterness, but sweet notes of malt and alcohol dominates.

The carbonation is medium to mild, the mouthfeel a little sticky.

A standard (or just below standard) budget lager, although not as sweet as the Swedish ones use to be.
