Sometimes to get what you really want, you've got to step outside of the lab and do things your own way. To escape the grind and seize an opportunity to make your own mark. The benefits can be surprising.
This isn’t your standard IPA. The piney, citrusy hop character hits your palate with striking crispness that fades quickly, leading to a mild, malt sweetness and dry finish. See you back in the lab.
Welcome to the lab.
Our beers are unfiltered, some haze is natural.

650ml bottle - cooking up some session IPA in the manner of Breaking Bad, I see?
This beer pours a clear, bright medium copper amber colour, with two fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly off-white head, which leaves some tiered streaky cloud lace around the glass as it slowly and evenly subsides.
It smells of semi-sweet, grainy caramel malt, some biscuity cracker, generic citrus rind, wet pine needles, a hint of earthy yeast, and more leafy and floral green hop bitters. The taste is fairly acrid underripe lemon, orange, and white grapefruit peel, heady pine resin and a few of its forest flora friends, maybe a suggestion of battered tropical fruitiness, and more strangely un-perfumed floral bitterness.
The carbonation is quite evenhanded in its well-distributed frothiness, the body an adequate middleweight, and generally smooth, as a small hop acridity kind of interferes with the festivities here. It finishes trending rather dry, the bottom falling out of the malt, as expected, while the tartly fruity, and otherwise green bitter characters really show some lingering oomph.
Overall, a decent enough version of the style, with just enough of a nod to a malt backbone structure to keep things from going off the watery hop rails. Tasty, pretty easy to drink, and yeah, very sessionable, that is, until certain receptors on my tongue start to feel a bit singled out, and book it outta there.

Appearance - Pours a warm orange amber with three fingers of dense foamy white head.
Smell - citrus and piney hops, pine resin, grapefruit peel, citrus fruits, and bready malts.
Taste - Bold bitter flavours from the hops followed by the pine resin and grapefruit peel. The citrus fruits and bready malts help to round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes dry with a lingering bitterness.
Overall - An excellent rendition of the "session" IPA style. The hops are at the forefront and the malts come through in the end to help balance the brew out. Overall, a well executed brew.

L: bright orange/amber
S:pine, citrus rind, wet stone, fresh/
T: nicely balance, lean, not big and bold, subtle, very bitter finish (58 IBU)
F: light to medium body
O: The extremely bitter finish is way too much for me and detracts from an otherwise really nice beer. I'm eager to try their other varieties.
