The Pacific Northwest is home to a particular style of IPA that is lighter in color, crisper, and much hoppier than IPAs in other parts of the country. Northwest style IPAs have a very dry finish and must have an intense hop aroma and bitterness. Fish On! gets it's signature flavors from two new high-alpha acid hop varieties, which lend a very intense yet drinkable bitterness and flavor.

Arrived with a finger of bone-white head with good retention. Nose had a spearmint aspect that I have been noticing recently. Color was a deep golden-amber. Mouthfeel was medium with a cool, minty flavor on the tongue. Finish was like having smoked a menthol cigarette.

On tap at the Snowgoose.
A - Served a cloudy dark orange with a white film of a head and some white bubbles around the edges.
S - Ripe oranges and malty.
T - Orange peel and a lighter sweet Carmel malt. Mild all-around.
D - Medium to heavy body with a nice carbonation body. Not overly sweet or bitter.
O - Mild IPA. Solid but nothing earth shattering. Nice to try a beer that isn't reviewed much.

a dark gold with a dissipating head. smells fancy, looks nice. big citrus aroma with grapefruit leading the way. I thought from the smell that this was going to be outstanding, but upon drinking, all the hops go into bitterness, there's very little actual hop flavor. the malt is nice, smooth delivery. but not much else there. just the quick up-front punch of bitterness on each sip. no lingering hops. no lingering hope.

A- Appearance is a robust orange with copious cabonation bubbles. I found the head to be disappointing in terms of volume and retention.
S- Citrus and floral hops, some light malt, and just a hint of some medicinal property.
T- Fruit flavors hold the dominant position throughout, with apple, grapefruit, and even faint lime flavors existing. Malt quality was quite good. There was a minty presence, and something almost cannibis-y faintly floating on the tongue.
M- Smooth, perhaps slightly low carbonation but a good, sturdy weighted beer.
D- All in all a pretty solid ipa. I must make a remark that a big plus was that as it warmed, the beer did not change properties. A very consistant tasting beer throughout the pour. I appreciated the beer, and it was an ipa that paired well with food.

On cask at Humpy's tonight.
The beer pours an orange amber color with at best OK head retention and lacing. The nose is interesting and complex, and undoubtedly reflects the cask conditioning. I get some baked apple, flowery perfume, and even some cardboard on the nose. Flavors generally replcate the nose, except there isn't nearly so so much of the flowery hop perfume nose. However, mouthfeel is medium bodied and pretty smooth, with the alcohol well disguised. The beer finishes with some impressive bitterness, and barely discernable alcohol.
Another fine beer from sleeping lady brewing.

A decent IPA. Had it on cask at Humpy's in Anchorage.
Served in a pint, it's a rich copper color with a large double-thumb thick white head. Nose is strong citrus hops. Taste is smooth lingering hops, gentle raw malt flavor, and a slight bit of spice. Pretty good.
Mouthfeel is too thin; this one is definitely under-carbonated. Good drinkability though. A nice easy-drinking IPA.

I drank this in a brewpub in Anchorage. It gave a golden hue with little head. Not as aromatic as I'd like an IPA to be, nor as floral and citrusy tasting. I would give this beer a par rating, nothing more. It wouldn't take much effort to find a more exceptional IPA out of Alaska.

Not a strong representation of the style. Gold color with lingering head. Hops do not lend as much aroma and spice as tehy do IBUs. I'll have to give this one another look to be sure.
