Very simple bottle art, but the bottle says it all; It's a Porter from a small company called Southern Tier. This brewery is in my home state so I try to support them more than others.
This was actually my first porter that I ever tried and I loved it. I haven't had to many others to compare it to, but this beer made me a Porter fan. Very dark with an awesome flavor, but still goes down so smooth. For a beer this dark it is amazing how smooth it really is.
I always have a sixer of this stuff in my beer fridge. I haven't found anyone that didn't like this porter from Southern Tier!!

355 ml bottle, as Southern Tier Porter Dark, at Plan B, Copenhagen. Black colour, huge beige head. Lovely vinous and fruity aroma, notes of American hops and orange marmalade. The roasty notes are very subdued. The flavour is very moderately roasty, notes of chocolate and moderate American hops, not very sweet. Decent beer.

Pours a dark brown producing a small short-lived, tan head that leaves behind no lace as it recedes. Aroma is toast and roasted malt, unsweetened cocoa. Taste is malty chocolate, toffee, roasted nuts with a hint of floral. A little smoke in the bitter finish.

They got the color right. It pours dark but with minimal head.
Hint of roast in the nose.
Minimal flavor with a touch of roasted malts.
Thin watery mouthfeel.
Most dissapointing
Maybe I got a bad bottle. The other reviewers seem to like it.

Enjoying on tap at Gingerman NYC. Is this a different iteration of Southern Tier Porter. This one is called Robust Porter and is at 5.8% ABV.
Pours a deep dark brown, almost black color, with a moderate tan head that retains well. Creamy film and frothy lacing ornaments the surface and side of the glass.
Nice cocoa and mild coffee and roasted malt aroma. The malt also imparts a nutty quality.
Smooth and creamy, medium bodied and light fit the style. Sweet and cocoa like at first. The taste becomes slightly more bitter as I drink along. Mildly bitter espresso roast and a hoppy finish.
Solid and straightforward and easy to drink porter.
