Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.50%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Right-O-Way IPA is brewed as a Session India Pale Ale with citrusy hops and floral aromas. These flavors, with the addition of lightly kilned malts and moderate hop bitterness, make Right-O-Way a refreshing and easy drinking beer. The sessionable 4.6% abv makes this one of the “easier” beers we’ve ever made. Enjoy it in your favorite glass or straight out of the bottle. Either way, make it Right-O-Way.

Refreshing. Little lemon. Little floral. Bitter aftertaste. Wouldn't have guessed it to be an IPA. But good. I think this falls into the really nice for summer drinks.

For what it is, it's really good. A nice change of pace from the watered-down fractional/session IPAs I've tried lately. Hazy (unfiltered?) yellow/orange with subtle carbonation and a moderate (rather than thin) mouthfeel. Very nice initial hops on the tongue that mellows to a hint of warm, buttery malt at the end. Very unique flavor profile for its type. Worth trying.

a real miss for southern tier. the session ipa is hard too do and they seem to overdo the hopping and left the malt lacking in balancing out the bitterness. unbalanced and watery, will not buy again

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours a bright golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. About one finger of white head that fades into a thin patchy layer.

Smell: A crisp and juicy hop forward aroma with hints of citrus fruit and pine. Upfront scent of citrus hops with hints of orange peel, grapefruit, lemon zest, mango, and pineapple. Hints of grassy hops along with some pine resin. Soft pale malt scent with hints of biscuit, cracker, and yeast. A solid aroma.

Taste: Like the nose indicates, a nicely crisp and juicy hop forward taste with notes of citrus, pine, and biscuit. Juicy upfront presence of citrus hops with notes of orange peel, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, and lemon zest. Also some hop notes of pine resin and grass. Background notes of pale malt with some biscuit, straw, cracker, and yeast. A pretty solid session taste.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Crisp, clean, juicy, and drying on the finish.

Overall: A solid take on a session IPA. Nice citrus presence with a good biscuit malt backing.

Appearance: Semi-cloudy amber, with a frothy bone white head. Fine tree-line lace.

Aroma: Nice tropical and citrus hops. Appealing!

Taste: Very citrus-hoppy here, with a nip of bitterness at the finish. Quite a nice and tasty hop character with Right-O-Way — not a complex trip, but more than drinkable. I’d easily enjoy more of these.

This is a decent session IPA for those that like English style IPAs. The beer poured a slightly hazy golden with white head that left good lacing. The scent is bitter. The Taste was bitter from start to finish. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it was ok.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a bright golden orange with a small white head. the aroma is a hop blast with some citrus. The flavor matches the smell and it is really nice. Overall, a real good IPA from Southern Tier.
