Solid dark yellow and gold appearance, deft head at 2/5". Aroma gave off the usual suspect of citrus, but even some caramel as well.

Taste is good, its very bitter, and there is a massive hop bill for it. Pine, tangerine, pepper. Another one of those beers that was at the forefront of double ipas to be bottled, especially for its region. Its strong and that crystal malt helps hide its big abv.

Taste like peach shnaps and bad malt liquor mixed with DIPA. SKIP IT.

Bottle dated DOB 03/01/16 into pint glass. Pours a clear golden amber with an eggshell-white head. Initial impression is some citrus bitterness up front, well balanced by caramel malt sweetness. Medium mouthfeel - a little syrupy for the style, but not objectionable at all. Quite smooth. Alcohol is well hidden. Finish is in keeping with the citrus/malt profile. Very drinkable.

From a 12 oz bottle.
Deep amber body topped by an exceptional off-white head.
Mild, balanced and easy drinking for style ... Not quite like an APA, however, as the bitterness and hop flavor builds with tasting.
Medium body and carbonation.

22oz bottle served fairly cold into an Upper Canada Brewing pint glass. Purchased while visiting in the US. Bottled March 1, 2016.

Appearance - clear and coppery coloured beer, poured and impressive finger and change of white head, nearly overflowing the glass. The head is fluffy and soft looking with impressive retention.

Smell - lots of hop presence, some citrus, some malt. Flowery, before some grapefruit, mandarin orange and lime come into play. A little pine too upon repeated sniffs.

Taste - mild bitterness, with some piney flavours as well and peppery flavours as advertised. A little lemon and lime with some sweetness as well. Reminiscent of half mandarin oranges and honeydew melon. Subtleties of caramel too. Complex and quite flavourful.

Mouthfeel - smooth with moderate body. Moderately high carbonation and drying finish. Good feel especially with the flavor profiles. Body is syrupy just a touch at the end.

Overall - Unearthly is a winner, a well constructed, flavourful but unique DIPA, with its sweet melon and pine resin flavours and aromas combined with some peppery aspects as a point of differentiation. Certainly worth a try and worth it's fairly hefty price tag.
