Amber color with practically no head.
What unusual and delicious aroma with predominant notes of sweet “pamonha”, a wet green corn cake. Hints of vanilla and crème brûlée. I could smell for hours.
Likewise flavor of sweet corn cake, cinnamon, nutmeg, herbal, pumpkin, resin, pie crust and cloves. Dry aftertaste with a medium bitterness.
Medium body with low carbonation. Alcohol of 8.6% abv is incredible well hidden.
In general, I am not so fond of Pumpkin Ales, but I found this one is quite interesting, aroma is to die for, and with very present spices that are not exaggerated. I would sure have it again.

This is an amazing achievement of beer science and not at all what I was expecting. I had to put the food pairings away because this was clearly not designed to be paired. I don't know how, but Southern Tier basically just bottled an entire pumpkin pie into a bottle. Everything is there. Aside from the pumpkin flavour, they've put in all the spices from a pumpkin pie, in appropriate proportions. It's got that dry finish like after finishing off a slice of pumpkin pie and it's just as sweet as a pumpkin pie. It's literally just a pumpkin pie in a bottle. Not sure what else to say about it because it's so spot-on nothing else can describe it.

One note I'd like to make is to expect a sweet beer. The finish has dry aspects, but this is definitely a dessert. It is also complete in itself. Don't pair it with anything. I've had other pumpkin beers and none was ever this sweet or flavorful. Just drink it in place of pie. There's really no other use for it.
