The Blackwater Series has unleashed the popular flavor Crème Brulee in nitro for the next level drinking experience. NITRO Crème Brulee offers cascading, creamy richness with notes of vanilla and custard with a smooth milky finish that is uncannily true to the namesake dessert.

Southern Tier really tapped into the dessert world for this one. The Nitro Crème Brulee is super sweet and smooth. The crystalized burnt sugar is there and is prevalent throughout. The beer has that milk stout funk to it, so I wouldn’t put this into the pastry stout category. One and done but really enjoyable.

I am skeptical of beer that announces that it tastes like a specific dessert, and this was no exception. Fortunately it lived up to its claim.
Poured like a beer on Nitro; dark brown with a light brown cascade of fine carbonation that built a 2” tan head which took a while to dissipate enough to drink.
The aroma is lost on me, stupid Covid.
The taste is somehow a stout that gives me the distinct impression of the flavors of Cream Brûlée. Caramelized sugar and egg yolk are vanilla - not sure if the yolks are just in my head or actually in the flavor but it was pretty impressive how much it tasted like the namesake dessert.
The feel is creamy, mostly due to the nitro, and it compliments the taste.
OA, if you like sweet beer or just have a hankering for one, this one will fill the bill. Tasty beer!

I’ve had this brew several times and didn’t realized I had never rated it. This 4pk (9.6oz cans) was purchased at Bound Beverage in Warrington, PA.

After an initial aggressive, nitro charged opening burst, pours a deep, dark brown color with a dense, tight bubbled, two finger beige colored head. Totally opaque. The head lasts through the entire drinking session.

A sweet, burnt vanilla aroma.

A delicious, dessert-style beer. Flavors of caramel, vanilla, roasted malts followed by a slightly bitter aftertaste. The ABV is lurking there but never dominates the flavors. Rather sweet . A sipper simply due to the thicker, heavier consistency.

A heavier consistency with a creamy mouthfeel.

A top-notch beer. A beer that has tons of flavor. A nice brew to let warm up and enjoy slowly. Well done Southern Tier…cheers!

Poured vigorously from a 9.6 oz can into a .6L beer glass, the mostly brown body slowly turned into a near black body. Meanwhile, a tall, creamy, khaki colored head rises that proves to be very durable. This has an overly boozy feel and flavor but the alcohol is well hidden in the sweet aroma. It's very sweet up front, but turns mildly bitter by the finish. The sense of sweetness is enhanced by the substantial vanilla component.

Overall. A very good looking dessert (or late afternoon tea in my case) beer.

Dark nitro brew looks cool as expected. Some fine scattered lacing and an ok head. Smells just like a crème brûlée. Some alcohol and bitterness is present in the flavor, the namesake flavor is there as well but in total it’s not very pleasant. Rich and creamy. Do not like this sadly.

Black velvet liquid with a tan and tight head; poster child.
Heavenly smell, sweet and creamy with a butterscotch type profile.
Taste follows the nose with a lot less potency on the sweet end, which is preferable. Brown sugar, cream, and chocolate up front. Sits with a caramel finish that is like that of a dunkel but lighter, sweeter, and less bready.
This beer is perfect to my palette; light body with a velvety carbonated feel that is as dangerous as Satan’s temptations.
An overall delicious beer with a staple look, sweet scent, complex and balanced taste, and a truly delectable mouth-feel. Thank you, Southern Tier, for this heavenly nectar.
Zeus was next to me at the bar and was jealous of me while I sipped the concoction.

12 ounce can poured into a tulip glass. Best by 9/2/22, so well within date.

L--Impervious black color with an everlasting fluffy, khaki head that left magnificent lacing.

S---Strong aromas of creme brulee and vanilla. This is what they were aiming at. This is what they hit.

T---Follows the nose. Strong creme brulee and vanilla.

F---Rich, thick, creamy and coating. I think I'm going to use a word I've never used before in a review.....decadent.

O---Really, really good stuff. If I knew how good this was, I would've gotten more than one.

Nitro Crème Brulee sits jet black in a Pretentious Glass Company Dimpled Mug. Fine cascading of dark gold and brown nitrogen bubbles continues for a long time during and after the pour. The head is thick and creamy meringue, the color of light chestnut, that produces a stark contrast. the head retreats at a glacial pace, leaving a dense, thin coating of lacing.

The aroma opens with sweet Cappuccino, with a pronounced fullness of Crème Brulee. Faint roasted malt, vanilla, and cream build with warmth.

While very sweet, bitterness holds it just short of candy. Vanilla and faint cherries add to a whipped coconut cream base. Dark roasted malt fills the background and seems light at first, before it comes into focus. Tons of bittersweet notes fill the finish and carry the roast.

The body is medium to light, with a fine, silky-smooth texture. Ample residual sugar tricks one at first into thinking this has a full body. The alcohol is remarkably well concealed. The nitrogen is soft, yet certainly works its way into the tongue.

Without a doubt, Nitro Crème Brulee is a dessert beer, both in name and experience. One could even call is a Pastry Stout. Regardless of what we call it, only one is necessary at a time, and preferably late at night with Almond Biscotti. I enjoyed it beside a fire while reading, however, it would pair equally well with light conversation or simply in the silence next to someone you love.

A - Pitch black pour with a dense layer of creamy, caramel colored foam resting on top.

S - Sweet dessert-like aroma with caramel, toffee, cream, and vanilla.

T - Follows the nose (to be expected). Sweet caramel, cream, and vanilla and ends on the sweeter side.

M - Thick and silky leaving a sticky coating of sugar on the lips.

O - This and has always been a good dessert beer. I prefer carbonation but the Nitro brings out more flavor.

12oz nitro can. Poured out a jet-black color wit a huge, fluffy, pillowy white khaki-colored head of foam. It left thick rings of foam on the glass. It smelled of sweet caramel, toffee, chocolate and lots of vanilla. Sweet toffee and caramel taste with some toasty notes. Strong vanilla presence with some chocolate.

Dark look with cascading nitro waves when you first pour it. Smells of custard and vanilla greet the nose with a creamy mouth feel and tastes of vanilla, caramel, and custard. This beer holds up to its namesake well and is a deliciously sweet treat.

You might want to try this guy. It's a milk stout, so it's way creamy and not nearly as bitter as the stouts that you may not like - and somehow it's hiding a 10% ABV in there. It's super subtle, super smooth, and super delicious. It's definitely the best milk stout I've ever had. And for it to be packing a 10% punch, that's pretty serious. The only downside is that it comes in a 9.6 oz can....
