Yet another wheat ale today.

Pours with very little head. Golden yellow color. Translucent. A bit of haze.

Small number of bubbles. Decent amount of carbonation.

Nose is a disappointment, in that, it just smells like a raw unfermented hopped malt extract.

Taste is more wheatish. Still not upto the mark. Subtle hops and spices but not very clear.

Mouth feel is light to medium bodied.

Very easy drinking beer, only if you like it though. Pretty average.

[Suggested Glassware: Shaker Glass]

The pour was a cloudy medium yellow with a slight orange hue and a small (less than 1 finger) white foamy head that was mostly diminishing with fair streaky lacing.

The aroma was of sweet grain and hay malts, a doughy yeast and notes of citrus (lemon) wheat and a bit of spice (coriander).

The taste was a light sweet, mildly acidic and a tiny bit malty from the onset, then became a tad yeasty with a light citrus peel bitterness and a hint of spiciness at the end. The flavor was kind of short in duration and had a slight wheat citrus taste that was left behind.

Mouthfeel was light in body with a mildly dry texture and a nice soft carbonation.

Overall a nice light, refreshing and tasty Wheat Ale, with a drinkability that would fit right in with your mid summers BBQ's...

Puts a clear golden color with a fleeting one inch white head that dissipates into a layer of foam, leaving minimal lacing.

Aroma is grainy malt, with notes of wheat and a hint of lemony citrus. Smells a bit corny.

Flavor is fairly lacking. Wheat is dominant, accompanied by a substantial grainy malt backbone. Floral hops are subtle. The finish is a slight bit peppery/bitter. Lemony and orangey notes emerge as it warms.

Body is moderate, with moderate to high carbonation.

Overall, a lackluster offering. Nothing bad, but nothing noteworthy.

This beer recently got taken out of year round rotation so I hope it's not too old. Relatively clear golden hue with no head to speak of. Smells of lightly buttered biscuit and dried bread with a touch of wheat.

Pretty bland. Rounded out mouthfeel at least. Flavor profile is much like the nose, subtle, somewhat buttery, whispy, some sour lemon grass. Extremely clean and well rounded. Could work well in the summer as the flavor gets a bit bolder with each sip. But nothing exciting.

A- darker then a wheat, but still a yellow shade.
T- citrus, a wheat beer but mellowed with a pale taste.
M- easy going, not to much jumping out but some nice flavor, it works on a hot day.
O- good choice when you want a wheat beer but like pale or ipa styles.

Another of my local trader's, tone77, many bottles to keep me from going CAN crazy. It may be working as I have been running through a lot of bottles lately.

From the bottle: "Make every day Earth Day"; "Simple ways to be greener - bike to t...; shop at thrift stores; use rechargeable batteries; plant a garden; compost kitchen waste; eat leftovers; rollerskate to work; hang-dry laundry; fix leaky faucets; carpool or ride a bus; let the rain wash your car; shovel snow/rake leaves; Est. April 22, 1970". There were others that got obscured by their logo, but that is a fair representation.

My pour netted a finger-and-a-half of fizzing off-white head with moderate retention. Color was a cloudy golden-yellow. Nose had a lemony-citrusiness to it and I became more hopeful. I am not a fan of the banana esters of Hefes and in reading the style description, I became slightly nervous. If anything, it had a pleasant malt backbone as well. Mouthfeel was on the full side, being full of carbonation, and the taste had a tropical fruitiness, like pineapples or mangoes, maybe even guava, but no bananas! The finish was semi-sweet with the fruitiness really leading the way and then lingering. I liked it, especially on a hot, humid summer's day, but I am not sure that I would feel the same way on 22 April. Great for summer, but for the late spring ...?

Poured from bottle into pint glass

Appearance – Pours a straw yellow color with one finger white head. The head fades relatively fast to leave only a very light amount of lacing.

Smell – The aroma is heaviest citrus and spice. There is a good presence of orange as well as some nice aromas of clove and cardamom. Mixed with these aromas are lighter aromas of yeast and banana with a wheaty bread smell.

Taste – The taste begins on the wheatier side with notes of citrus sweetness. The wheat bread and citrus orange flavors are soon meet with notes of yeast and some cardamom more towards the middle of the taste. As the taste advances some of the citrus orange transitions to a slightly more lemon flavor and is accompanied notes of clove and yeast coming to the tongue at the end.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the lighter to medium side with a slightly higher than average carbonation level. Very average and fitting.

Overall – It is quite easy to drink and has some good flavors. Makes for a tasty session.

A - Clear pale gold, thin white head recedes quickly and leaves little lacing.

S/T - Lightly hoppy, mostly grainy, a little sweet on the back end with minimal bitterness. Slight wheat twang to it.

M - Light body, carbonation feels a bit high, so its not as smooth as it could be.

O - Easy drinker, nice on a hot day, but nothing I'd get again.

Bottled 03 29 12. Poured straw yellow, very little head, lots of carbonation. Very little in the nose, just a whiff grain and grass. Taste and feel is very light, thin, med. carbonation, hint of orange and lemon zest, touch of spice, almost no bitterness. Clean and refreshing brew good if local and fresh at your next BBQ.

I poured this beer into a pint glass. It has a nice murkey golden color body with no head or lace to it. The smell is wheaty and light of spices. The taste has a nice banana flavor to it with some wheat coming through on the middle of the tongue. The mouth feel is very nice and smooth, well carbonated. I think overall this is a good summer/wheat beer.

355ml bottle. ½ Pint glass. Enjoyed on jun´12. Pale straw color, chill haze appearance. White, brief froth. Slightly bready touch, herbal & yeasty aromas. Crispy bitter upfront, oily & buttery. Subtle hints of banana & ripe melon. Quite flat mouthfeel. Moderate to heavy carbonation, medium body.

Aroma is not strong, but tempts with wheaty and yeasty notes and a lemony undertone. It pours a slightly hazy bright yellow with a very thick head. Satisfying flavor has a wheaty core and firm citrus and yeasty notes. Texture has only average fizz and body, but still satisfies. A good summery brew to cool you off on a broiling day.

Pours a hazy pale yellow with a light tan head. In the aroma, citrus and wheaty. In the taste, dryer citrus notes and a watery end. A nice bite and a lighter bodied mouthfeel, with a small dry note of citrus in the aftertaste. Just about average, and still a wheat beer.

Reviewed from notes.

A. Mildly hazy golden color with a flash head and no lacing.

S,T. Distinctive medium levels of orange peels and lighter amounts of generic cloven spice with a garnish of earthy hopping on top of a wheat malt base.

M. On the heavier side of "light-bodied". Finishes with a medium level of standard pithy bitterness that sort of comes out of nowhere in the middle of each sip but sticks around through the finish. Light carbonation.

A: The beer is slightly hazy yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin white head that quickly died down, leaving a thick web of lacing covering the surface and a thin ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: There are light aromas of wheat in the nose along with hints of orange citrus.
T: The taste is similar to the smell, except that the flavors of orange are more noticeable. There is also a very slight amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has some refreshing properties and goes down very easily, making this rather sessionable.

A: Poured from the bottle into a weizen glass. Body is bright golden yellow with a small white head. Some splotches of lace.

S: Some wheat twang with a bit of lemony citrus.

T: Like a wheat ale: wheat, light malt and some citrusy hops. Lemon or lemon zest is there, but not strong.

M: A bit slick for a wheat ale; the body is surprisingly fuller than your usual light offering. Carbonation is modest.

O: OK. I've had better, have had worse.

Average appearance. Yellow and mostly clear, not a whole lot of head, a bit of lace.

Definitely bready and yeasty. A little floral. A little grainy. Smell is overall light but somewhat sweet and pleasant.

Taste is sweet, grainy, yeasty, a touch fruity.

Body is quite light, easy to drink, and a touch slick with residual sweetness.

It's a tasty wheat, not outstanding or one of ST's best mind you, but quite drinkable.

12 oz. bottle poured into a standard pint.

A - Vibrant yellow. A bit hazy but some light can be seen through. Small head which dissipates quickly.

S - Some bready yeast smell accompanied by some citrus and flowers. Boring and unimpressive.

T - A bit of wheat followed by tart lemon, grass, and yeast. The flavors are very light, making it very easy drinking.

M - Nothing out of the ordinary. Decent carbonation and thin feel.

O - Very average beer. It is very sessionable and would be refreshing in the summer. Probably not one I will get again.

12 oz. bottle into weizen glass. DOB is 10/07/11...not super-ideal but it works well enough.

A: Color is pale, slightly cloudy gold. Head is two-fingers and white with good retention.

S: Smell is heavy grains/wheat and phenolic. Fruit is primarily lemon.

T: Taste starts off fairly malty and grassy. Wheat twang in the middle, and then finishes with lemon zest, more grain, more grass, and a lingering bitter aftertaste.

M: Light body. Decent carbonation. Super, super easy to drink.

O: Straightforward and really easy drinking. The taste is good and clean, but not super assertive. Not horrible, but not great. It's definitely drinkable, though.

Pours brilliantly clear pale golden with virtually no head, except a thin soapy ring.

Aroma is bready malt, wheat, and lemony citrus notes.

Taste is similar to the nose. Pale malt and wheat have a strong presence. Pear and melon fruit notes along with a peppery hop bite bring some complexity. finishes with lemon peel, corriander, and musty yeast.

Mouthfeel is light-medium bodied.

overall an interesting take on an American Hefe. Nothing great, but worth a try. Probably would be a good summer ale.

422 has a dull, hazy, golden-colored body with a creamy looking white. The retention and lacing are both solid.

The aroma brings grassy hops, a hint of lemon and bread.

As American Pale Wheat Ales go, 422 isn't bad at all. A mild hoppiness brings notes of grass and lemon, as well as the faintest amount of bitterness. The malt profile features bread and a bit of grain.

Nice creamy mouthfeel with a smooth feel from the carbonation.

422 is a solid, though unexciting, American Wheat Ale. It might be worth a try if you're looking for something in the style, but I wouldn't seek it out again.

Being from WNY, I am quite excited that there is a micro brewery of this caliber in the area.

It pours a light yellow with a slight head that disappears quickly. The aroma is of grass, hops, and bread. The taste is actually pretty good. Has all the characteristics of a wheat beer without selling short on the hops. This is a good blend of wheat and hops. This would make a great entrance level beer for someone who is used to drinking Budweiser or some other watery substance.

A-Pours honey color. Head begins fluffy and bright white but it dies down to nearly nothing. Leaves nice lacing however. Very transparent but is darker than their 'Pale' Ale.

S-Subdued aroma. A bit of hop and a more stressed malt character. Definitely has a sturdy wheat component (relative to the rather weak aroma altogether).

T-Similar to aroma. Mellow, mellow, mellow. Grass hops, a bit of lemon citrus. Sweetness and wheat. Not much depth or flavor intensity, but doesn't taste bad.

M-Light. Watered down almost. Barely bitter. Mellow carbonation. A bit slick.

O/D-Its okay. Decent flavor. A tad boring, but its drinkable. Just a slightly below average beer. Just another part of a variety pack.
