As scientists, our brewers utilize their materials to exacting standards. As artists, they couldn’t resist the temptation to combine two of our highly acclaimed Blackwater Series Imperial Stouts: Jahva and Choklat. Alone each is perfect, but together as Mokah they are an inimitable expression of two of the world’s most sought after flavors. Enjoy Mokah stout with – or as – your favorite dessert!

A - Typical molasses black, real weak quick fading what would be a foamy tan head, a few carbonation bubbles cascading.
S - Very strong aroma...can smell it when the glass is sitting on the table. Very well balanced coffee and chocolate flavors with a solid roasted malt backbone. Also a pretty good alcohol aroma in the background.
T - Was hoping the flavor would be a strong as the aroma but it's not quite there. More on the chocolate side than the coffee up front. The alcohol heat and flavor butts in about halfway through each sip but doesn't ruin the palate. Finishes with a coffee bitterness and just a hint of semi-sweet chocolate.
M/D - A thinner body than I would have expected for this style but it is nicely carbonated. Finishes neutral from the bittering coffee and chocolate sweetness. Alcohol is present but not in a completely bad way, but it's 11% ABV so I can't really complain. Drinkability is average because of the balance of flavors but nothing spectacular that leaves me wanting more.
Was hoping for a little more but this beer is a superior candidate for bourbon or whiskey barrel aging, IMO

Poured into a wide mouth, grip shaped goblet: color is black, solid, head very light tan, head presents 1/4 inch thick, dissipates to nothing but ring on glass sides.
Smell is strong chocolate/cocoa backed by lactose and coffee beans.
Taste is more strong chocoloate/cocoa, some coffee, lactose backing with blended flavor that lingers, maybe some light hops.
Mouthfeel is low/moderate carbonation, moderate/strong sweetness, lower bitterness for the style/strength.
Overall a big, sweet stout - strong on cocoa, lighter on coffee with lactose sweetness rounding it out.

This one really exceeded my expectations. Pitch black, oily, viscous, scant tan head, no lacing. Coffee and chocolate from beginning to end, tastefully sweet. Thick silky mouthfeel, mild carbonation.

12oz bottle, best by 11/20/24
I always wanted to try this one when it was in bomber format - glad to finally have it!
L: near black body; thin tan. Head disappears quickly
S: creamed coffee, chocolate, vanilla, lactose
T: sweet lactose, vanilla, coffee, chocolate, roast, earthy hops
F: full body, very smooth, ample carbonation, alcohol is warming, sweet finish
O: sweeter than expected, but I didn’t realize until I opened it that it’s brewed with lactose, so that makes sense. Also didn’t realize this is a blend of Choklat & Jahva. Interesting. Good beer all around!

If you like chocolate, look no further. Totally dark, small tan head, minimal lacing sums up the appearance. The aroma and taste would make Hershey's jealous. Coffee is lurking, waiting for an opening. Full bodied mouthfeel; little in the way of carbonation.

An absolutely phenomenal Imperial Stout! The look, aroma of roasted coffee and hazelnuts matched with just the right amount of hop bite make this Southern Tier Imperial Stout a world class killer!

Purchased at Giant in Souderton, PA. $15.99/4pk 12oz bottles.
Pours a deep, dark black color. Totally opaque with zero light showing through. A thin head on the initial pour that fades to a skim.
A rich, dark chocolate sweet aroma.
An excellent stout. Flavors of sweet chocolate, coffee, toffee and caramel. Leans towards the sweeter side, a dessert style brew. The ABV is lurking with each sip.
Heavier, rich consistency. Low carbonation.
Overall, a very enjoyable stout that I’d classify as a sipper, dessert style beer. Sweet but not cloying. A nice addition to the Blackwater Series of beers…cheers!

12oz bottle into a goblet. Recent re-release from ST, I missed it the last time around.
Standard stout look, black body, tan head reduces to ring and covering, scattered lacing. Nice soothing aromas of coffee and cocoa. Taste is slightly sweet, more coffee and cocoa, alcohol compliments rather than stands out. Finish is nicely warming.
Overall, glad to have this one come back. Will enjoy the rest of the 4 pack.

Opening the bottle, chocolate. Black, blink-and-you-miss-it tan head. Despite the taste, not super-sweet cocoa. I'd like a little thicker feel, but that's just me. Not boozy for 10%. Not as flavory as the Creme Brule I tried last night, but def satisfying.

This was evidently a reboot of the “Black Water” series but it has the same name and premise.
Poured stout black with a 2” beige head that left little lacing.
The aroma is lost on my Covid damaged nose.
The taste, yowsa, this hits my sweet spot for milk stouts, even though it doesn’t specifically mention lactose, it almost has to be in there.
Coffee is smooth and mellow, the chocolate balances out the bitter that frequently comes with coffee and adds some sweetness.
The feel is very much like a milk stout, that smooth, soft viscosity that generally comes from lactose.
OA, picked up a single to see if it was good; I will definitely get some more.
