Style: American Double / Imperial Stout

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 10.00%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
As scientists, our brewers utilize their materials to exacting standards. As artists, they couldn’t resist the temptation to combine two of our highly acclaimed Blackwater Series Imperial Stouts: Jahva and Choklat. Alone each is perfect, but together as Mokah they are an inimitable expression of two of the world’s most sought after flavors. Enjoy Mokah stout with – or as – your favorite dessert!

One of the richest beers I've had the pleasure of trying. The mocha flavours live up to the name - definitely worth the price if you get the chance!

There weren’t any significant differences in either one. The appearance was a nice dark brown close to brown colored body with a decent one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within about thirty seconds. There was some light lacing here and there in a messiness of sorts. The smell had a nice rolling bittersweet cocoa bean to roasty ground coffee bean hovering over top of some light vanilla. The taste was sweet all the way and pervades inside of a light roastiness that allows the vanilla to combine very nicely. There is a long lingering roasty to sweet milk chocolate aftertaste that lead to a dry finish. On the palate, this one sat right at a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Overall, what a nice imperial stout to have again.

Straight from tap at Southern Tier's new location in Pittsburgh. As Leah says, "It tastes like you are walking into Hershey's Chocolate World! We liked this one a lot!

10 oz snifter at Stone Grille & Taphouse in York PA. Dark, dark brown with a thin tan head. Initial impression is chocolate, coffee, and booze. Medium mouthfeel - very smooth. Carbonation is light, but just about right for the style. Sweet, chocolate finish. Very enjoyable and very drinkable, even at 10%.
