Double IPA with citrusy hops. Leaves a lingering bitterness with just the right balance of malts to disguise the extra gravity.

Bottle dated BB July 2026.
Poured into Pro Pig IPA glass out in the DS. A golden honey color with a 2" foamy head that settles to a thin cap.
Aroma is faint. Some light caramel malts, just a whisper of pine.
Way too cold out the beer fridge, so let it adjust to optimum temp while new Frozen Soul album plays...
Taste takes me back to classic WCDIPAs like Stone and Torpedo.
Sweet caramel "malt backbone" setting the stage for the hops--orange marmalade and pine joined by zesty grapefruit and some spice. Fantastic bitterness.
Mouthfeel is spectacular. A syrupy, med/heavy body. Palpable. Sticks to my tongue and taste buds. Perhaps slightly undercarbed, but I'm rightly overjoyed.

12 ounce can poured into a tulip glass. Pours a mostly clear deep golden with a thin cap of off white foam. Aroma of creamy citrus notes and a hint of pine but not bold or dank, we'll see what some warming does. Taste has a light malt texture for the ABV with some citric notes throughout. Warming does enhance the pour from the nose through the taste and into the finish. Feel firms up with warming but remains fairly moderate for the ABV and adds some peppery spice notes to the finish. Overall a good take but a touch subdued or perhaps past its prime. BB 04/22/26 but unknown bottling term.

(review from May 2017) Hopheads rejoice! Wonderfully piney, bitter but well-balanced 2x ipa. Little harsh on the backend due to 8.2% unless you love eatin' pinecones

Golden amber color with an off white head. From an aluminum can. The aroma is of fresh hops...resin and pine, and a little earthy. The taste has a malty foretaste, followed by solid hop bitterness. Lingering hop finish, which dries out a bit. Solid flavor and fairly full in body. Satisfying.

Wonderful color, heavy hitting but smooth, hops and slight citrus balance the alcohol content; eminently drinkable. A great double IPA.

Golden/amber color, medium-sized, white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, caramel malt, and pine. Balanced taste with juicy, fruity notes of hops and a hint of malty sweetness.

Look: golden, solid head, scattered lacing
Smell: piney, resinous, floral
Taste: piney, citrusy, resinous, orange, grapefruit
Feel: med body, moderate carbo
Overall: Based off the 8.2% abv, 80 IBU's and all the C-Hops used, I was pretty pumped up for this brew. Kinda fell a bit short though. Piney and resinous on the scent and taste. Citrus is there but subdued. She's tame but still solid. Pairs well with Heartbreaker by Pat Benatar.
