This was a 12 oz bottle poured into a goblet.

It pours a yellow amber great clarity and good carbonation with medium retention. It has average to above average clarity. It has an amazing aroma of sweet malts with citrus and pine hops on the back end. The taste is amazing balanced especially considering the alcohol content. The big malts are welcome and then the hops come in and perfectly balance this beer. Considering tht this was an ipa it has a good bodyband good carbonation. Southern tier makes some great IPAs. I love this brewery and I was not let down at all by this brew. I would highly recommend this beer to IPA fans or to just beer fans.

A: Pours a clear golden color with a small white head on top, very little retention with minimal lacing on the sides.

S: Decent aroma, some light pine and floral hops. There is a bit of caramel and biscuit malt underneath. Faint alcohol.

T: Not overly hoppy for a DIPA, some caramel a faint floral hops. Not a lot going on here really.

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

O: An average double IPA. Probably won't seek it out again.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a snifter. Pours a crystal clear champagne with little off white head. Smells of mostly piney hops, not much going on here.

Opens with citrus hops, carbonation is pretty decent actually and the bubbly mouthfeel influence that taste for me a lot. I get bitter lemon zest and grapefruit. It seems to me I'm mostly tasting the citrus, not so much piney hops here. The alcohol is nearly non-detectable. Finish is bitter grapefruit.

Mouthfeel is a little on the high carbonation side for me. Overall a decent DIPA but I find myself thinking too much of what's missing for it to really be a winner for me. Worth a try, but there are several other DIPA's in the price range that I'd go to first. Above average but forgettable.

Pour into an imperial pint glass.

A - golden brown color. full inch of white fluffy head. light penetrates right thru easily. good amount of lacing sticks to glass and head dissipates after a few minutes- but never fully. head is there thru entire brew- impressive.

S - very nice hop. citrus, grapefruit are very predominant. bit of orange?

T - Really nice flavor. hops isn't overpowering but very flavorful. citra hops leave a nice bitter taste the sits in the mouth for a number of minutes. 8.2ABVs is impressively hidden.

M- coats the mouth well. low viscosity. light but full at the same time. lacing on glass remains on glass throughout brew.

O- Very easy beer to drink. I would recommend this to any beginner IIPA drinker. Regular IIPA connoisseurs would enjoy this throughly. I've had this numerous times and come away satisfied every time.
