Notes: This beer may have a cheeky name, but don’t be fooled; it is modeled after fine European pilsners to be light and crisp. Aromatic Noble hop varieties, 2-row malted barley and European style pilsner malt contribute to this pale beer’s smooth character.

12 ounce bottle with no freshness dating, poured into a pils glass. What passes for a head is more or less gone by the time I finish pouring out the contents of the bottle. Nice clarity in the light gold body, though.

Husky and grainy nose with restrained floral and spicy hops in the background. An oddly boozy beer at such a modest ABV, but the alcohol does seem to accentuate the spiciness of the hops. Lingering semisweet doughiness, a thicker than necessary body and booze; this beer is anything but light and refreshing. Rough around the edges, almost like a malt liquor or a Euro strong lager. It's interesting, but I'm glad I only have a single to deal with instead of a sixer.

A: Pours a clear, pale yellow with a thin white head that dissipates very quickly.

S: Aromas of grain, minerals, rosewater, herbs, grass, honey, and lemon are present on the nose.

T: Notes of minerals, lemon, herbs, grass, grain, honey, and rosewater wash across the palate. The finish is clipped with lemon, herb, grass, and mineral notes.

M: Medium-to-full in body, waxy, and a bit stickier than expected. Carbonation is very prickly. As beers of this type go, this is far from easy to drink. Unexpectedly filling and bloating for the style.

O: This beer has done little to convince me that American craft brewers handle European lagers well. Compared to many of the Czech classics, this lager is sorely lacking. Everything about it is just a little off. Although it is not bad really, the aromas and flavors displayed by this beer are too simple and too straight-forward and the carbonation is far too forceful. There is not a lot of depth, complexity, or subtlety here and the whole package is a bit too unrefined for my liking. Again, it is not really that bad, but it does seem a bit dumbed down compared to the beers it tries to emulate.

12 oz bottle in a pint glass.

Appearance: Pale golden. Certainly looks like a Pilsner Urquell.

Aroma: Fairly strong, noble hops and lager-yeast.

Taste: Very crisp but full-flavored. Taste is hop-forward with little to no sulfur characteristics.

Mouthfeel: Light and bright. Fairly high carbonation. Pretty much what one wants.

Overall: A solid German pilsner from and American brewer.

On tap at Dwyer's... presented with a clear yellow brew with a creamy white head that Hung around a good time looks damn fine.
Smell is light sweet malt and a hint of hops.
Taste is a creamy sweet slightly hopped with noble hops.
Mouthfeel is creamy on the light side but perfect.
Drinkability is damn good on this one and lovely to throw back love it..

Pours a pure white 1 finger fizzy head that fades semi quickly at first before slowing, with pot marked head, over brilliantly clear golden straw colored beer.

Nose is typical pilsner, some cracked straw, toasted wheat like malts, bit of a juicy lager fruit, crisp lager as well, touch of fruit, and hints of floral hops, with a bit of a lager yeast aroma.

Taste is nice, crisp lager, light toasty straw malt pils, light toasted wheat, bit of juicy malt, plenty of lager flavors with a light fruit and crispness as well as yeast, even hints of toasted bready malts. Then hops, with a nice floral hop but a hint of spicy cascade family earthiness and spicy quality but not heavy or overpowering, with a decent bitterness that gets slightly herbal. Finish is dry and crisp, a bit more of the earthy spicy like hops, a nice long bitter finish, slightly herbal but earthy and spicy at the same time and never too much, hint of straw and pilsner flavors lingering.

Mouth is a bit lighter bodied but on par with the style, decent carb.

Overall pretty good, the hops may get a bit too much for what it is considering they seem more American style hops that get a bit spicy and earthy rather than noble hops, which might be the only downfall of the beer. Otherwise nice malts, drinkable, tasty, no real off flavors except perhaps a bit of the yeast flavor coming through (and the hops a bit much). I'm surprised this has such a low rating, although not too surprised considering the typical American palate is not a huge fan of the lighter but still tasty beers, especially pilsners and lagers overall.

Had this on 2012-06-04 in Columbia, PA

A - Very clear yellow with a 1-finger white head that fades quickly and leaves little lacing.

S - Grassy, bready, herbal and light stone fruit. Volatiles fade quickly.

T - Honey-sweet pale malt, citrus, light stone fruit, grassy, herbal/metallic and some light hop bitterness come through at the end. Dries quickly leaving a citrus-tart and light bitter finish that sticks around awhile.

M - Light body and medium-high carbonation. Crisp and refreshing.

O - A pleasant but not earth-shattering pils. I much prefer Victory Prima Pils.

12oz. Clear gold pour, just some white bubbles. Would have liked a little more.

Aroma, hay, corn and light caramel.

Taste, Grainy hay and light caramel malt. There is a light herbal hop bite. A little corn in there.
Pretty clean and straight forward. No Prima Pils, but pretty good.

Light bodied, more carbonation than it appears. Drinks easy. Definition of session ale.
