Is this really an IPA? Drinks more like a hoppy Four Loko
A- pours a deep golden amber with a one-finger foamy white head that has short retention
S- smells of Sunny D, orange candy, peach gummy rings & citrusy hops
T- tastes like Sunny D up front, followed by some tropical candy notes. Mid-palate gives orange juice, the finish gives more sweet candy, orange and some citrusy hops on the linger
M- medium body with medium carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel and a crisp finish

12 oz. Can. The second I popped the top, heavy citrusy aroma hit, mainly orange. Color, looks like something from a lab, artificially hued. Taste is like an alcoholic fruit punch, sweet, mouthfeel is sticky.
Overall, this to me is a ‘novelty’ brew, just did it, to do it. Get it now ‘or not’, it shouldn’t be around for long, ‘not’, is my preference.

Cloudy orange appearance with a small, short lived, off white head without any lacing. Sweet, fruity aroma dominated by oranges. Flavor stays true to what the smell is projecting; lots of fruit and lots of orange. Well carbonated, medium bodied mouthfeel despite the high ABV. If you like boozy orange beers, this one's for you.

Much too sweet to even be in this category.

This was one of the worst beers I've had in my 36 years of being a beer drinker. And I'm sad that I bought a whole 6 pk as I don't want to drink anymore. The flavor was like alchohol Tang, and just fermented in my mouth. Fake, upsetting on the palate. Just really awful. I used to love this brewery back when all their flavors were sold in bombers, and Pumking was still 9% abv. But this, as well as all the "Sam Adam's" changes over the last decade are enough to keep me away from anymore blunders like this OJ cough syrup.

Poured at 33F from a 12 oz can.
Pale yellow, hazy, very fizzy, but not much head.
Aroma was reminiscent of a Jolly Rancher candy (this is not a good sign).
Taste was consistent with the aroma. Is this actually beer? Virtually zero discernable grain, hop, or yeast flavor. A waste of an otherwise desirable hop bill, IMO. Jolly Rancher dominates. There's nothing in the flavor or aroma that suggests IPA, let alone Imperial.
Very effervescent. Thirst quenching at a low temperature (my beer fridge is set to 33F for the summer). It actually makes a decent alternative to soda or flavored seltzer on hot days. That said, the completely invisible 9.5 ABV sneaks up on you and must be considered. Be sure to drink this at home!
I'm not likely to buy this again. Then again, I might. It's an excellent thirst quencher. And, 9.5% ABV notwithstanding, is a nice lawn mower beer, provided you wait until the mowing is done and the power tools are turned off and stored away!

Tastes like they added orange cough syrup to an IPA to get the ABV up to 9.5%.

I’m not sure this is technically beer.
The color is a lovely, deep gold. The nose is…. Hawaiian Punch. I detect virtually no beer flavor in this “beer”. This is more like one of those cloying malt beverages. Southern Tier makes some decent beer. This is not one of those. I assumed the juice jolt was from hops, not actual juice. It would have been nice if Southern Tier was more forthcoming about this. Otherwise I would not have pulled the trigger on this mess.
Not good.

19.2 fluid oz monster sized can poured into an IPA glass.
Grabbed this as a single alongside the rest of my beer purchase. Not sure what compelled me.
Appearance is a nice golden bronze. I like the nose. Fragrance of assorted fruits... while it is pleasant, I am not sure if that what beer is supposed to smell like.
Taste: This thing is definitely juicy. I can't kill it as this is how it is advertised. A bit sweet for me. Literally strong hints of kool-aid fruit punch. There is a bit of a booze kick which is probably its finest feature.
I think this is better suited to the sour crowd to be honest.
