Being in the bottle for 5 months hasn't affected the flavor one bit its definitely a cross between a orange soda with an imperial cream ale and a nice bit of fruity hops in the finish. Goes down smooth enough with a medium body but the presentation lacks a bit with very little foam or head. Still a tasty novelty IPA I can appreciate.

Designed with imperial ale and cream soda in mind, Southern Tier weaves these two flavors together with orange and suddenly we have an alcoholic push-up on our hands.
Medium golden and capped with a frothy white crown, Orange Twist lures in the senses with a strong sense of orange and vanilla, with only hints of citrusy hops and herbal balance lurking in the recesses of scent. Sweeter with light caramel and honey, a vanilla cream sets the tone for candied orange that takes center stage.
Much the same transpires across the middle palate. An abundance of orange cream, vanilla and bubbly soda all swirl on the tastebuds before a lightly hopped pale ale backdrop strengthens near its finish.
Medium bodied and deceptively smooth for such a strong ale, the alcoholic push-up flavor is in full swing; and much to the delight of the nine year old that’s still alive in all of us.

A - Medium orange gold color with very light haze and a dense lacing ring.
S - Packs a massive, authentic orange creamsicle aroma with some dessert sugary sweetness.
T - Same as the nose: Big time orange creamsicle dominates from start to finish with some sugary orange sweetness.
M - Medium body with no carbonation, that's sticky on the lips.
O - This beer is definitely as advertised and totally get why it would be polarizing, it's an either 'ya like it or 'ya hate it kinda thing. I rated it a solid 4 only because they totally nailed what they were going after.

If you the thought of a beer tasting like a creamsicle make you hsppy then run to try this one. For me, that flavor profile terrifies and this hot that mark. Not a repeat by any stretch for me.

Pours clear, gold in color with one inch head. Taste is orange Creamsicle and ale, seltzer, with alcohol on the finish. Heavy body, medium high carbonation, slightly sweet. I like it. Want the finish to not have as much burn but otherwise a fine beer...like their ice cream shop line.

One of the worst tasting beers I have ever had. Looks good. Smells good. Feels good. But the taste is like orange flavored NyQuil. Poured a little into a glass and it had a nice orangy head.

L - golden orange with a creamy white head that sticks around and leaves minimal lacing
S - smells like a dreamcicle - strong orange and vanilla
T - follows the nose: orange and vanilla cream up front and intermixed well throughout. Slight hop bite with a good amount of malt
F - medium bodied with moderate carbonation
O - well executed and as promised - an orange dreamcicle beer. That said it is definitely a dessert beer but one that tastes like summer

L: Amber pour is a bit hazy, 1/2” white fizzy head hangs for a minute before leaving a sparse cap.
S: Smells like an orange cream soda with hints of root beer, nice aroma but doesn’t smell like a beer.
T: Much like the nose, sweet and very Cream Ale-like with orange and a ton of vanilla flavor, finish is bitter orange with hops peeking out from the flavoring, it does hide it’s ABV well.
F: Light-medium body, medium carbonation, enough for a small crisp bite.
O: As advertised but not for me.

Very drinkable for a high ABV ale. Low carbonation and very thin head. But a pleasant orange cream flavor comes through after the initial hop/malt hit. More carbonation would help a lot.

Pours orange and nearly clear with a thin head. Aroma is orange sherbet and vanilla. Taste is the same, with sweetness following. Mouthfeel is light and low carbonation. A nearly identical taste to orange sherbet, one of my favs. Nicely done!
